Someone list the 5 Best Finals games for both players so we can compare.
Both went to 7 Finals so it's a fair argument

As a Cavs fan and a player who watched them both I have to still say Kobe. Kobe played against tougher defenses that were allowed to hand check and still scored more efficiently than LeBron.

'00-'04 Kobe shot ~38% in the Finals.

Why compare a Top 5 player to a Top 15?
That's like comparing Kemba walker to CP3. That's unfair you guys.
Compare Lebron to MJ/Kareem/Magic.
That should make for a more interesting debate.

#1 - Kobe takes over against the Pacers on the road in OT without Shaq to give Lakers a 3 - 1 lead in the Finals to secure the Lakers first ever title since Magic Johnson
#2 - Kobe goes off for 36 points on 61% shooting to give the Lakers a demanding 3 - 0 lead with a clutch performance @ New Jersey
#3 - Kobe hits the game-tying 3 and leads the Lakers to a win in OT vs the Pistons to save the Lakers from being swept in 04
#4 - down 2 - 3 after his 38 points in Game 5 against Boston, Lakers come home for a crucial Game 6 that Kobe dominates - 26-11-3 4 steals, Lakers hold Boston to 67 points in an elimination game
#5 - down double digits in the 4th quarter of a Game 7, Kobe wills his team back, gives them the lead and hits the free-throws that ice the series. Holds Ray Allen, the GOAT shooter at the time to 3-14 shooting with 2-7 from 3 in a Game 7 of the Finals, 15 rebounds, one of the GOAT defensive performances if you combine Games 6 and 7.
Lebron has nothing. His biggest moments are him being saved by Ray Allen and Kyrie Irving, Lebron would be 1 of 7 if Chris Bosh doesn't get the Rebound followed by a Ray Allen three and if Irving misses the three.
his best moment? sonning KD in 2012 Finals

ImKobe seriously posted Kobe's 6/24 choke as "one of his greatest games" :lol
how was that a choke? Lakers were down in the 4th and he gave them the lead from the FT line, next play pulls up in Ray Allen's face and hits the jumper to extend the lead, gets key rebounds and gets the ball to Artest for the huge 3, Lakers up 3 pts with 26 seconds to go drives it to the hoop against Sheed, gets to the line and ices the game
how is that any less "clutch" than what Lebron did in Game 7 of the 2016 Finals lol, Lebron's Game 7 is close but he got bailed out by Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry, Lakers were in no danger of losing Game 7 after Kobe got them the lead
Lebron IIRC was defending Draymond Green in Game 7 of this year's Finals
Draymond Green had 32-15-9 on 73% shooting
look at the 3s Draymond rained on Cleveland, Lebron was lost on defense and gave up one wide open 3 after another
yup, just watched a quick highlight reel of Green's scoring and most of his baskets you see Lebron being lost on D
if Curry and Thompson were even average, would have been a blowout win for the W's.

#1 - Kobe takes over against the Pacers on the road in OT without Shaq to give Lakers a 3 - 1 lead in the Finals to secure the Lakers first ever title since Magic Johnson
In a series in which Shaq averaged 38/17/2/1/3 on 61%, while Kobe, predictably, shit the bed. 16/5/4/1/1 on 41% TS.
#2 - Kobe goes off for 36 points on 61% shooting to give the Lakers a demanding 3 - 0 lead with a clutch performance @ New Jersey
Nearly choked the game away, missing 2 FT's and a shot with about 1:30 left in the game. You won't lose too many series when the teams best player is putting up 36/12/4/1/3 on 60%.
#3 - Kobe hits the game-tying 3 and leads the Lakers to a win in OT vs the Pistons to save the Lakers from being swept in 04
In a series in which Kobe took 29 shots MORE than Shaq and scored 20 FEWER points. 23/3/4/2/1 on 46% TS. This series basically cemented Kobe as one of the WORST Finals performer, for an ATG.
#4 - down 2 - 3 after his 38 points in Game 5 against Boston, Lakers come home for a crucial Game 6 that Kobe dominates - 26-11-3 4 steals, Lakers hold Boston to 67 points in an elimination game
A game in which Pau was actually better than Kobe. 17/13/9/1/3. A near triple double, and help KG to 12 points on 14 shots and only 6 rebounds.
6-24 in a Finals game 7 and was saved by Artest in the 4th Q. 38% TS in G7. That's just sad. Also, LOL @ Allen being the GOAT shooter and Kobe "holding" him to 3-14 shooting.
GOAT defensive performance?
Lebron has nothing. His biggest moments are him being saved by Ray Allen and Kyrie Irving, Lebron would be 1 of 7 if Chris Bosh doesn't get the Rebound followed by a Ray Allen three and if Irving misses the three.
Too many to list. Let me school you some more, kid.
LeBron has 3 buzzer-beaters in the PO's in 13 seasons. Kobe? ONE in 20 seasons.
If just going to do a top 5 from his Miami seasons. Those 4 seasons should be more than enough to trump whatever Kobe has done in his entire 20 season career.
#1 - 2012 ECSF G4. Miami was down 1-2 against the Pacers and LeBron put up 40/18/9/2/2 on 59%. This was an away game, BTW.
#2 - 2012 ECF G6. With Miami down 2-3 against the Celtics, LeBron absolutely went ham in G6. 45/15/5 on 75% TS. Pretty much better than ANY game Kobe has had in the PO's.
#3 - 2013 NBA Finals G6. The Spurs were pretty much about to close out the series and take the championship, but LeBron decided otherwise. Scored 16 points in the 4th Q on 7-10 shooting, without which that iconic Allen shot wouldn't have been possible. He also made a 3 prior to Allen's, which put them back in the game.
#4 - 2013 NBA Finals G7. Once again, the Spurs wanted LeBron to beat them with his jumper and LeBron did just that. 37/12/4/2 on 70% TS and sealed the series with a jumper over Kawhi. That how you close out G7's of the Finals, BTW. Not by going 6-24.
#5 - 2013 ECF Game 1. With Miami trailing by 1 and 2.2 left on the clock, LeBron did this:
http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/LeBron-James-Game-Winning-Lay-Up-Game-1-2013-ECF.gif
30/10/10/3 on 55% TS and pretty much game Miami a much needed G1 victory, in a series which went to 7.
Wait. I didn't even use 4 seasons. I just used games from '12 and '13. Games from 2 seasons of LeBron's, which absolutely murder Kobe's entire career. I know you did Finals, but these games were crucial, more clutch, and just flat out better than any of Kobe's.

everything I read is total horseshit
2000 Lakers lost the game Kobe was out
Pau was a tier below Kobe in the 2010 Finals, his play on the road in Boston is the reason they were down in the first place
Kobe averaged 33 ppg in the 3 games @Boston and they lose 2 out of 3 games? the b2b losses in Games 4 and 5 - Kobe averaged 36-6-3 on 47/48/88 shooting, series should have never come down to a Game 7 but Pau in Games 4 and 5 averaged 16.5 pts 9 rebounds on 44% shooting
Lakers should have won the 2010 Finals in 5 games had Pau played as well on the road as he did at home, Kobe's 2010 Finals averages should have been 30/6/4 on 43/38/92 shooting with the Lakers celebrating on Boston home court
plus you are talking overall series numbers, this is about performances, as in moments/games not stat-sheet bullshit, but I have to use some stats, otherwise you would be confused since you never watched any of those games. You are listing ECF and ECSF games :kobe:, I could bring up Kobe's 48 pts 16 rebounds on the road @Sacramento followed by 45 points 10 rebounds @ San Antonio or Kobe leading the Lakers in points, rebounds, assists and blocks in 2000 WCF Game 7 with Lakers coming back from a double-digit deficit, a game where Shaq put up role player numbers

The Cavs were struggling and LeBron scored 11 points in the 4th Q. 8 straight points at one point and scored 6 straight after GSW were up 4 and with all the momentum. Dude absolutely killed their momentum and gave the Cavs a 2pt lead. He also has the game saving block on Iggy.

Someone list the 5 Best Finals games for both players so we can compare.

Wtf. A better argument would be:
Lebron's best 5 Finals performances of the past 15 months
vs
Kobe's 5 best Finals performances of his entire career

Wtf. A better argument would be:
Lebron's best 5 Finals performances of the past 15 months
vs
Kobe's 5 best Finals performances of his entire career
Lebron's best 5 games from the past year and 3 months are all better than Kobe's best finals game ever:oldlol:
Keep in mind that Lebron had more 40 point finals games in 3 days than Kobe had in 20 years, a few months ago.
Mr Feeny

By game scores, Lebron's back to back games 5 and 6 if this year's finals were both top 3 games in finals history.
Let that sink in. The greatest game in finals history and the 3rd greatest, b2b:rant

09-07-2016, 05:00 PM
Not a fair comparison. Lebron is a top 5 talent, so of course he's going to win this debate. I mean, I guess you can say that it can even out, since Kobe wasn't the main focus of the defense for most of his Finals, and he played against weaker teams. But still, top 5 talent vs top 15. Of course the top 5 is going to have better games.

Okay you guys are right, this question isn't fair for Kobe.
Lets rephrase it:
LeBron's 5 Best Finals games from past June vs. Kobe's 5 Best Finals games in his 20 year career?
This one is close...

Okay you guys are right, this question isn't fair for Kobe.

Lebron's 13 Game 7' is disqualified from this argument for obvious reasons (Chris Bosh, Ray Allen)
Lebron's '16 Game 7 is also disqualified from this argument for obvious reasons (suspensions, injuries)
So Kobe wins by default
Woww Kobe fans really have noting less to argue with after 16. I don't like LJ, but this is pathetic

In a series in which Shaq averaged 38/17/2/1/3 on 61%, while Kobe, predictably, shit the bed. 16/5/4/1/1 on 41% TS.
Nearly choked the game away, missing 2 FT's and a shot with about 1:30 left in the game. You won't lose too many series when the teams best player is putting up 36/12/4/1/3 on 60%.
In a series in which Kobe took 29 shots MORE than Shaq and scored 20 FEWER points. 23/3/4/2/1 on 46% TS. This series basically cemented Kobe as one of the WORST Finals performer, for an ATG.
A game in which Pau was actually better than Kobe. 17/13/9/1/3. A near triple double, and help KG to 12 points on 14 shots and only 6 rebounds.
6-24 in a Finals game 7 and was saved by Artest in the 4th Q. 38% TS in G7. That's just sad. Also, LOL @ Allen being the GOAT shooter and Kobe "holding" him to 3-14 shooting.
GOAT defensive performance?

30/10/10/3 on 55% TS and pretty much game Miami a much needed G1 victory, in a series which went to 7.
Wait. I didn't even use 4 seasons. I just used games from '12 and '13. Games from 2 seasons of LeBron's, which absolutely murder Kobe's entire career. I know you did Finals, but these games were crucial, more clutch, and just flat out better than any of Kobe's.
somebody just got bodied.
