View Full Version : Who is the most bitter former NBA star?

I remember reading a book about Jordan years ago and I came to understand that Scottie Pippen had a deep resentment toward the Bulls. I think he is also somewhat jealous of Jordan.

He's also said a few things in the past few years that make him sound bitter.

Is Pippen just perpetually butthurt about being underpaid in Chicago and seen as a sidekick?

Oscar Robertson. In a couple of years it will be Barkley

Kobe, as much as it pains me to say it.
Dude spent his whole life trying to emulate Jordan's game, yet only managed to become the 12th (at best) greatest player ever. :(

Oscar Robertson by far. No one within a mile of him.

Maybe Ewing, when he sees all other great centers like Robinson, Shaq, Hakeem winning championship except him in that era. He was also the most hyped lottery pick too I think.

If Pippen resented the Bulls why did he go back to Chicago to finish his career?

Oscar Robertson.

Out of nowhere he starts hating on Steph Curry and that was a couple days before he hit that gamewinner in OKC.

Pure hatred for him, I have no idea why :oldlol:

I would have said Oscar, except that in his book he comes across as a much happier person than, say, Jerry West (who isn't bitter so much as full of despair.) One guy who was surprisingly bitter in his own book was Dr. J. I really wasn't expecting that. Rick Barry is another possible answer to this, except he's not so much bitter as he is full of disdain for other people. Again, not the same thing.

Clearly Magic Johnson.

I dunno Magic is pretty nice.

Only has kind things to say about Kobe and Bron.

I was being sarcastic. He is probably the least bitter person. Smiles all the time. Props up current players. Dude is probably just happy he is alive after the early 90s.

Not a star, but most bitter player is Vassilis Spanoulis. Guy came to the NBA thinking that he'd be able to be as productive there as he was in EUR and got his ass handed to him. He then crawled back to EUR bitter as hell, realizing that Euro ball is so far beneath the NBA in skill level.

Like what? He genuinely a cool, calm and content guy. He's critical but never bitter. I see him often as his restaurant is up the block from my job.

Easily the Big O. Especially towards scoring guards, who could play defense, were clutch, and won championships. Basically MJ, and Kobe. Lesser extent Curry. But loves stat stuffers who remind him of himself. IE, LeBron.

*Kobe becomes an analyst on NBA on ESPN*

"Kobe what are your thoughts on the way Lebron is taking over this game tonight?"

"Well I got 5 rangz and he got 3 so I think that speaks for itself."

".......um ok we now go to Doris"

A year ago or so, a friend of mine saw Kareem Abdul Jabbar at Bevmo. Now, I had already warned him that he wasn't a people person, a nice guy to approach in public, that it was common knowledge.

With that in mind, he went up to Abdul Jabbar and politely asked him, apologizing for the interruption, that if he wouldn't mind an autograph. Abdul Jabbar was browsing and side eyed, said "I mind." Went straight on back browsing. :oldlol:
