Inefficient, and the least clutch superstar in the league by a mile. Every time he miss a clutch basket (seems to be around 100% of the time) he gets pass because people say he is "alpha" and a "warrior" :oldlol: You literally have people on here hoping they change the way to vote for the MVP award so this overrated fraud can win it. :facepalm

1- Loyalty to his team
2- Chosen not to collude to win
3- Play with a high motor 40+ minutes a game
All admirable traits

People find him fun to watch because he play out of control and flashy. However as unclutch and out of control he can be, he does help his team win and you can trust that he will give 100% to win which is respectable.

same reason Carlos Boozer got a pass for being a rebounder and not a defender?

The most he ever played was 35.3 MPG. Not even close to 40 MPG. Never touched 40 in the PO's either.

He shouldn't get a pass. One of the attributes of being a leader is to lead and make good decisions. What good is all that athleticism behind a weak mind?
Kyrie Irving is currently the greatest pg in the game based on the fact that he is is the best post season performer and knows how to deliver under the highest level of pressure. He is able to do all that WHILE being the 2nd option to Lebron and he is only 24 years old. I'd take him over Chris Paul, Westbrook, Curry, Lowry...any person that is listed as a "pg" in the game today.

I think people appreciate his emotion and effort. When people claim he's a top 5 player I think he's being vastly overrated though. He's not a good defender, can't run an offense, and isn't a great shooter... although you wouldn't know that based on his shot selection. I think you're more likely to win a championship with a guy like Mike Conley running point.

Are you one of those guys who says Curry is a good defender? Actually I think you've said Curry is a better defender than Westbrook.
Also he has had a lot of success as a star player for being so overrated. Only way Mike Conley wins a ring is if he is the 3rd or 4th best player on a team. If Westbrook was the 3rd or 4th best player on the team a ring would be guaranteed too.

People think he's exciting too. All I see is a hideously retarded player who plays like Koba from Planet of the Apes, and reacts purely off emotion. He drives recklessly and then stop / pops for dumb shots. There isn't much craftiness, skill or aesthetic to his game. It's very ugly to anyone who appreciates basketball skill or intelligence.

Because he was technically a sidekick. It will change as people get used to him as the man who gets the credit and blame.
