I remember there was a considerable amount of talk about that Pacers team possibly getting over the hump that season and dethroning the defending champ, Pistons. They had just come off a 61 win season and felt they should have defeated the Pistons the season before in ECF. They were sitting on top of the East at 7-2 early in the 2004- 2005 season and felt poised for a title run. With players such as prime Artest, Jemaine Oneal, and Stephen Jackson, along with the veteran presence of Reggie Miller, do you think they would have been the favorites to come out of the East that year? Could they have beaten the Spurs in a 7 game series if the brawl had never happened?

They would've beaten the Pistons imo. Probably would've lost the Spurs tho. :confusedshrug:

That brawl was so unfortunate. Started out of no where. Artest and the piston crowd shamed the league.

They would have been in the ECFs. Heat/Pistons would win

Yea. I thought it was their year. Beating the Spurs would have been one hell of a challenge though

Why do people not know how to describe what they see with their own eyes? The uploaded of this vid has in the title

"Ron Artest (Metta world peace) knocks out fan"

Metta throws a punch and just like every other fake NBA tough guy, can't even knock the guy out. In fact, the fan just like any other fan (man, woman or child) immediately throws a counter punch since Metta's punch didn't even phase him. Uploader is a moron who thinks that the action of throwing a punch is the same as the action of knocking one out. :facepalm

Artest would have won MVP and they would have been Champions

They would have lost to the Heat in the ECF. Wade probably wouldn't have suffered the freak rib injury, and he'd have abused Ron Artest worse than he did the year before in the ECSF. Shaq would have taken a steamy dump on the other O'Neal. The Heat would have went on to defeat the Spurs to win the title. The Malice in the Palace indirectly cost the Heat a championship.

:D :( :rant
