The gun was unloaded but he didn't know that at the time. Two other officers arrived on the scene later and killed the guy. He was fired for not eliminating a public threat.

No killer instinct.

My gawdbe would've shot him right away whether he could see him or not.

Isn't Kobe a 25% shooter in the clutch? Better wait for Horry and Fisher to arrive.

Kobe's much more likely to brick the shot and kill an innocent. Then his backup comes to put back his mess and kill the suspect.

On June 7, a Weirton officer delivered him a notice of termination letter dated June 6, which said by not shooting Mr. Williams he “failed to eliminate a threat.”

That's why he was fired. When the other two officers arrived, had the suspect gotten out and shot and killed both of them, the officer who was terminated would likely be facing criminal charges.

I'd like to see some dash video to determine what was said by the one officer to the responding two when they arrived. If the suspect immediately exited his vehicle and started walking towards the two responding officers with a gun in his hand, then yes, this guy ****ed up.

If he at least explained the situation to the two responding officers and THEN they decided to shoot, then he probably is in the right.

Probably need to know the whole story, sounds like he had made a few dodgey decisions and was on probation.

why would anyone be a cop these days, you either end up going to prison for doing your job or get fired.

Definitely deserve to be fired. He wasn't fired for not shooting the guy. He was fired for endangering his fellow officers. Had it been him by himself, he wouldn't get fired.

Some people actually want to help the communities they grew up in (as this officer graduated high school in the town).

Until they shoot the wrong person (you're white and you shoot a black dude), then it's game over no matter what the situation, even if it was 100% justified.
lol true, black people need to police themselves in all honesty.
