:biggums:

That works out to be roughly $800 million a day to go around the world and slaughter people.

It isn't money wasted. The US profits hugely from war. That's why they just find one after another.

Doesn't need to be anywhere close to that amount...

But there are friends and family members with bills to pay.

I rather slaughter bad people than let them be the ones doing the slaughtering.

This.

We've already seen what happens when you let the hordes in and fck shit up.

Or when you have renegade dictators like the North Korean president get too large of an ego.

Someone has to play world police. Unfortunately America has to, they aren't perfect but I'd rather them doing it than some middle eastern country.

So you are agreeing with everything done post 9/11, no matter republican or democratic party... from the invasion of iraq, destabilization in Libya, etc.?

Nope not at all.

What I mean is, America is bestowed with the responsibility of having ultimate power in any conflict.

The destabilisation of Iraq has been pioneered by two terrible people. Bush and Hillary.

The wrong people have been in charge, Obama has strengthened enemies and fueled terrorism.

I just don't think the solution is to relinquish those powers to another. I do not trust any other country to have that power over the world.

The top 1% profits while the bottom 99% pay for the wars.

War in the US is a means to transfer money from taxpayers to the rich and mega corporations. Deplete the public purse while creating enormous private wealth. It's disgusting.

Imagine how much better the US would be if the money that was spent on rebuilding Iraq had been spent on revitalizing American cities and communities, building new schools and infrastructure.

two time medal of honor recipient major general smedley butler had this to say about war in 1935 -

"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small 'inside' group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes."
