For me it was his lack of bball iq and becoming too reliant on his athleticism.

I think it was the fact that he, at most, only won 2 titles as a team's best player (debatable).

So by this logic the lowest Kobe should be is 11th, because the other players in that 11-15 tier (Oscar, West, Moses, Dr. J etc) have 1 ring as their teams best player combined

I think, guys,
That when we get to the top 20 all time, it's less about what they lacked and more what the ones above them had.
Kareem isn't #2 because he has huge flaws or something.
He is #2 because MJ is superior.

His on court impact wasn't that of an ATG. Why is that? Because he was a definitively selfish player. Which is why a lot of people like him. He played for himself. I dislike Kobestans because their grasp on reality is so tenuous. But my biggest problem with them is that they clearly revere selfishness. Its mindboggling to me that in this day, selfishness is something to be revered.

You guys need to respect Kobe more.
5 rings and 2FMVP!
Did you see his last game? Him scoring 60 points to finish his career cemented him in my top 20.

Kobe is a top ten player based on how much the people that hate him really hate him.
Thin line.

Kobe said that he wants to be remember as an overachiever. He overachieved. He's more of a top 24 player of all time, but with having teammates like Shaq, and getting really lucky in getting a Gasol for Kwame Brown, he was able to win 5 rings. So nothing kept him from being a top 11 player of all time, but rather he overachieved.

I don't agree that Kobe is outside the Top 11 but my reason for him not being higher than I have is mostly because of what Hurricane said, but also because of the fact of Jordan himself
I think if Jordan never existed yet Kobe played the same, people would view him a lot differently

More like Shaq and Gasol overachieved by carrying a selfish chucker to 5 championships, but I get your point.

While 60 points in your final game looks great on paper, we have to take the circumstances into account. That Jazz team had literally nothing to play for, and thus defended Kobe as if he had stage 5 cancer. :oldlol: Matter of fact that's how pretty much every team defended him during his contrived and cringeworthy retirement tour. The fact that he STILL couldn't crack the 36% shooting barrier is beyond embarrassing, and I say that as a huge fan of his :(

When a huge Kobe stan like JT123 says that Kobe's sub 36% shooting season keeps him from being in the top 11, we should settle down and listen:applause: ::lol
