Dirk Nowitzki: You know… with a 60-point game? That’s so Kobe like. The whole arena was standing up the whole fourth quarter. But I’m more like a Duncan guy. More a quiet guy. I don’t need the limelight as much.

I like how Dirk and Duncan keep their teams competitive to the very last minute. True franchise legends.

Duncan yeah.

Dirk? So-so.

His team isn't in the lotto, but he wasn't competetive since 2011.
Still his loyalty is praise worthy.

(Though the 2014 mavs gave the spurs a real scare in the 1st round. )

Unlike Kobrick, Dirk is efficient with his shot selection. I guarantee he drops 70-80 points with 50 FGA.

Didn't Kobe also say he didn't want a retirement tour, only to announce his retirement like 2 months into the season when he was getting backlash for his shitty play?

Dirk certainly does seem like a humble guy though. I could see him going that route.

Duncan and Dirk are just awkward guys with no swag. That is why they don't like the spotlight. No reason to puff their peters over it.

I'll take humility and unselfishness over swag.

They are just not talented with charisma so they sit there like a rock and don't say anything. What a great achievement...

What? And you think Kobe has charisma? Hate to break it to you but Duncan and Dirk get along better with their team mates than Kobe does - much more important than any fake persona Kobe gives off in public.

Kobe has so much charisma that he had to rape a mediocre looking white girl to get laid :oldlol:

So he's going to launch up 50 shots in the lets say...40 mins he plays...and all the shots are going to be good shots? Right. Ban this shitty alt too.

Look up to who you want, for whatever reasons you want tho.

Respect to Dirk for being humble his whole life, it's great for TEAM sports when all players like sharing and want to help others succeed, instead of getting jealous of others shining, and being selfish trying to shine more, while hurting the team with hero ball. jealousy....thats a female trait.

Lol.. hes kept shit teams alone in the thick of the western conference playoff race.

They also gave OKC a major scare in 2012 in Oklahoma, one of the most misleading sweeps ever.

A lot of Alphas with swag will wife up a fat girl so she can stay at home: cook, clean and raise the kids; and they also know she will never leave under any circumstances. With the latter part of that in mind, they go out and sleep with as many hot girls as they want.

The system is not bad to be honest.

(BTW You shouldn't be bringing up this topic while talking about Dirk and Duncan. Dirk gets sprung for hoodrat gold diggers (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Dirk-Nowitzki-s-alleged-girlfriend-arrested-on-f?urn=nba,161964)and Duncan has sex with guys.)

OP conveniently left out relevant parts...

You know, I loved the way Kobe went out ... with a 60-point game? That's so Kobe like. The whole arena was standing up the whole fourth quarter. So much fun to watch. But I'm more like a Duncan guy. More a quiet guy. I don't need the limelight as much. Maybe not quite the just e-mail, Hey, by the way Tim Duncan is retiring. I thought that was a little low profile. Maybe there's a little press conference or something. I don't know, I don't really want to think about it because I know it's gonna come up soon anyway. I'm just gonna enjoy the last couple of years.

I take exception to that. Jealousy is not just a female trait.

20-10-3 with %56-57 TS on the playoffs for last three years . Duncan was as good as 12 Dirk , back in the 2008 .

His team wasn't competitive , not his fault . Think about what happened , If Duncan played for the Mavs or with Ellis as the go to guy .

For the 2014 , he was really tired when carrying the Mavs in the season . And then Spurs defended him well , he had the worst series of his career . But again , he had 23-24 points and ten boards a game in the last two games . But Spurs won the last game by far when Popovich solve the Carlisle's switches strategy and Parker burning .

Kobe announced his retirement DURING THE SEASON! That's why Kobe got that retirement tour. If Timmy announced his retirement BEFORE OR DURING the season, he would have gotten that same treatment. If KG or Dirk did it, they would get a retirement tour too. So even though I love Dirk's humble nature, NO DOUBT he would get a retirement tour!

Not only does he have an epic resume, he redefined the PF position. And helped changed the game. Before him, we didn't see a 7 footer with his kind of scoring skillset. He legit had a superstar swingman's skillset in a 7 foot 240 pound body. Sort of like a bigger and less athletic version of KD.
