I always thought that Lebron and Wade would be the premier perimeter duo this decade. But surprisingly, I'm starting to think that I would take peak Curry/Durant (them right now) over any version of Wade/Lebron when they were on the heat.

I pick Lebron and wade because they have Lebron

an argument can be made that both wade and Lebron are better than curry and durant in the playoffs.. being built stronger allows them to keep a higher level of play when physicality increases. But if you include the 'fit factor' i think curry and durant might still be able to exceed them as a duo because their potential chemistry is so high.

I think we need to watch Durant/Curry before jumping to assumptions.

If it clicks, yeah they could be amazing.

But let's not tie our carriage just yet.

Lebron/Wade are better on both sides of the court but Durant/Curry might look just as good because they have a far superior supporting cast.

Well, won't they look worse statwise?

I mean, there's only so much scoring to go around with such a deep team.

Lebron and Wade averaged about 47-50 PPG together every season, along the lines of 12-14 Rebounds and 12-14 Assists per game together.

That's a very dominant duo. Both in their sucess (4 finals, 2 chips) and their personal accolades (stats and 2 MVPs for bron)

So do you see Steph and KD surpassing that?
Do you see any of them taking home an MVP? Or them making the next 4 finals?

Lets wait and see how Curry/Durant do in the next 4 years and then come back to this topic. Tough to say for now.

Maybe not statistically, because they still have to share with Klay/Dray. But Durant>Lebron and Curry>Wade in terms of VOLUME scoring, so I can see them both putting up over 25 ppg a season after the chemistry issues work out.

I think whoever establishes the self as the "alpha" of the team will win at least one MVP similar to 2012 Bron.
As far as rings go, with OKC getting dismantled unless Kawhi/Aldridge make a huge leap the Spurs won't stop them anytime soon.
They'll make the Finals every year (barring injury) until Iggy breaks down from age. And if Lebron starts breaking down GS will win every Finals too.

It will be interesting either way though. They could very well 4-peat due to their young core 4...

Maybe because Wades decline when they teamed up after 2012.
If Wade and LeBron played with each other say 2006-2011, this wouldnt be a discussion. They would of dominated the league more than ever.

The 2011 finals tends to overshadow how great Lebron and Wade were that season. After a slow start they played at a near 70 win pace and cruised to the finals with a 12-3 record. They would completely overwhelm opponents on both ends. I've never seen a duo that could just flip a switch and blow a team off the court in a matter of minutes. We saw glimpses of it in 2012 and 2013 as well, but not as consistently because of Wade's health. At their best, Lebron and Wade were as devastating a perimeter duo as I've ever seen.

TBH, I'm not even convinced that KD & Curry beats LeBron & Kyrie, at least not if we're talking about head-to-head. Any combo w. LeBron and an elite one-on-one player is up there with any combo in history. LeBron's all-around play can keep any team in the game, and Kyrie can do the rest, and they can still take turns scoring. For whatever reason, KD isn't as unguardable as LeBron is during the playoffs. He can't run a team like LeBron, he'll turn the ball over more often in crunch time than LeBron and he isn't nearly as strong as LeBron either. LeBron is just better than KD and Curry, and that's all there is to it. Curry relies too much on his 3ball and i dont think his play dropping off in consecutive years is all about an injury. On the other hand, there's Kyrie, who isn't as good as KD or Curry, but neither of them can prevent him from getting an efficient 25+ ppg, and probably more. So if Kyrie does that, and LeBron does LeBron, I'm taking them all day.

So back to Dwade and LeBron vs KD and Curry. Curry and KD fit together better IMO, but 2011 Dwade was more well-rounded than both of them and also an elite scorer. 2012 LeBron is still better than either curry or KD. We'll see how this plays out, but I'm not sure any duo besides Shaq & Kobe > LeBron &DWade.

Fit wise, the Beta Brothers.

Quality wise, the Super Friends.

Gap between the Heatles offense to the Splash Fam is closer than the Beta Bros to the Super Friend's defense.

And defense wins championships.

"The reason why GSW lost in 2017 was due to chemistry issues with adding of Durant. No worries guys, they will win in 2018. I mean, just look at what happened to the heat in 2011." :facepalm

Yes, some moron will say exactly this. Thread bookmarked.

Wade and LeBron ('11 and '12 versions) would murder the beta bros. Ignore the fact that Wade and LeBron would shit on them on the defensive end. Who's actually going to guard Wade? Cuckry? I would pay 10 grand to watch Cuckry try to guard Wade.
