It's time that billionaires like Trump start paying taxes instead of hard working middle class and lower class, which is basically her entire platform.
The top 1% have all the money, and are finding ways to avoid taxes...that is why everything is a "disaster" as Trump would say.

Her 65% Estate Tax proposal she released last week gave the Donald a minor stroke.
The Donald, being the candidate who wants to do away with the tax completely so his spoiled silver spoon kids don't have to pay any taxes at all on their inheritance.

Why should you pay an inheritance tax tho? I mean isn't that money already taxed? You need permission and fees to give your hard earned taxed money to your own family?
Canada has no such tax, and are people aren't starving.
I'm all for getting rid of bs loopholes and tax havens where the richest pay absolutely nothing though

There is no inheritance tax if the estate is under $5.5m, also businesses can't be taxes if you inherit a family business.

They are supposed to be in the top tax bracket...the US Gov never intended for Billionaires to be able to avoid taxes by loop holes. This is something that NEEDS to be fixed because the extreme wealthy hold all the money.
Hillary is huge on this...she wants to get rid of these loop holes, and then use the money to pay off college debt for the middle class...thus leaving a strong and EDUCATED middle class

if the value of the total estate is under $5.5m, you will not be taxed a single penny

Just close the tax loopholes and cut government spending. Not sure what's so hard about that....
Or go to a consumption tax, which we should have been using all along.

The thing is every time the government passes something, unintended consequences are a result. Maybe they should consider that before they blindly pass something. It has a lot to do with these politicians not working a real private job before.
They are going to go after billionaries, pass some law and it will affect the 99% negatively without realizing it.

Student debt is single handedly crushing the middle class...many have $50k-$100k in debt that will take them DECADES to pay off.
Trump lowering taxes 1% (if that) is pennies compared to making sure the elite rich are taxed properly, and then freeing up everyone's student debt that has a choke hold on them

there are THESE benifits for those with existing debt:
you are eligible to have your monthly payments capped at $143 per month under an income-based repayment plan.
After 20 years, any remaining balance will be forgiven.

No I don't have debt. I went to a public school and my parents saved and invested wisely.
What should be recommended is to pay off federal student loan debt with PRE-TAX income. The government is making a nice profit margin off making you pay off your federal student loans after they've taken 25% already. I can get behind making a tax deduction on interest and principal. That'll lower the overall tax rate and give college grads more useable income they need at that age.

the payment cap is entirely dependent on how many people are in your family.
for a solo borrower, the payment cap is at $299. you need a spouse and 2 children to get your cap down to $143

I have a spouse, who currently makes $900 student debt payments, and 2 kids.
I've been trying to set up my own kids college funds recently, the way it is set up currently, I have to plan on spending $250k EACH when they are of age to go to college. I need to save HALF A MILLION in the next 15 years for my kids to have college paid for.
I make good money, and these college costs are fcking KILLING me...if they are killing me I know they are fcking up most everyone else, half the country living paycheck to paycheck, how the fck can they afford this shit?

I may not disagree but the estate has to be over $5.5m and excludes businesses
if your kids inherit a $20m dental business then it will not be taxed, because they know ti could force your kids to have to sell the business.
