James Harden will play full time PG this year (he basically has anyway) and he will average 28 ppg 8.5 assists and 6.7 rebounds on his customary 60 TS%.

Rockets will be 6th seed in the west.

Great regular season stats. Top-5 mvp candidate in today's league...

But will he improve on his weak playoff shooting and get out of the first round is the question?

Last four post seasons... .39%, .38%, .44%, .41%

Being full-time PG may be a blessing and a curse imo

I predict a lot of free throws and no respect still.

I can see similar to last year. Something like 26/6/5 on like 44-45% FG

As OP said, he was basically the point guard last season.
Probably similar numbers.

He was really good in the 2015 playoffs although he had an awful final game. Even Millbucks was giving him props.

going kind of bold predicting he'll be back to a top 5 player this year. Houston will be fun to watch on offense and might get 45 wins.

So OP thinks Harden will basically put up peak Lebron numbers?

Granted Harden is a turnover machine who doesn't play defense and his numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt, but that would be historic level production.

My guess is 26/7/6/1.5/.5 on 44%FG, 4 TO's

I also think his minutes will be slightly decreased from last season, maybe around 36 mpg.

Nobody cares about what stats you put up if they don't equate to wins.

Dont listen to these dudes bro they all seem to have started to watch NBA like 2-3 seasons ago

Anyone who knows a shit about DAntoni knows how realistic this is. Dudes system inflates PGs stats

Kendall Marshall, Jeremy Lin, Steve Nash, etc I could go on

You forgot his greatest piece of work: Chris Duhon.

Yeah seems bold, but I always hear about how D'Antoni's system leads to inflated stats because he runs and guns. Harden already gets a shit ton of freethrows and a good amount of assists a game, with a ton of turnovers.

Also here are 2010 LeBron's stats: 29.7 ppg 8.6 apg and 7.3 rpg on 49.7% shooting 33% from 3 and 77% from the freethrow line.

James Harden's stats from 2016: 29 ppg 7.5 apg 6.1 rpg on 44% shooting 36% from 3 and 86% from the freethrow line. Now, he's not as good of a passer or floor general as LeBron, and not many people in history are as good as peak LeBron (if you consider that his peak*), but those stats in terms of raw numbers aren't too different from LeBron's at his best. The freethrows also bring his TS% up to 60. LeBron's was 60 as well.

Harden is a beast and there's no real way of getting around it. Scoring machine who can pass and rebound. Rare.

Key words there. Using context we all know Harden isn't anywhere close to Lebron. There hasn't been a player since Kobe Bryant who has alienated teammates like Jimmy Harden does.

The thing is, Harden's stats are already inflated to begin with, and he's overly ball dominant as it is. His numbers tend to feel manufactured rather than organic. That's why most people don't take his numbers at face value. That and his complete disregard for defense and his historic volume of turnovers. If anything I'd think a better system would cause his raw averages to go down, his FG% to go up, and lead to a reduction in turnovers. I just can't see his numbers being any more inflated than they already were.
