He was great in the playoffs. But he missed plenty of games in the regular season. I think when Healthy Kyrie is a top 10-12 player in the NBA.

They might not know what they are talking about.

He can't stay healthy. He's top 10 in talent, but not even top 50 in health. He has 1 season at 75 games. The rest are all missing heavy games.

I'll never say anything bad about Kyrie Irving after this year's finals.

How on earth do you lower someone after a post season like that?

Kyrie is quickly becoming the most underrated player of all time.

It is now not only happening on this message board but also in the broader society.

:facepalm

My only problem with the SI ranking is that it's really inconsistent with its criteria, and that leads to some silly rankings. On one hand, Kyrie is judged for how well he'd do on "his own team" whereas someone like Draymond Green isn't. They're seemingly choosing to focus solely on the regular season, but then they rank LeBron & Durant ahead of Curry, when there's really no argument for that. Iggy is ranked #42, ahead of Demar Derozan & Isaiah Thomas, and there's zero way he's more valuable on his own than either of them, and both of them played huge roles in their teams getting to the playoffs, with Derozan pretty much reaching the glass ceiling in the Eastern Conference. There's all sorts of little things like that throughout the SI rankings, so I don't take them all that seriously.

As for Kyrie's ranking, if I'm an NBA GM, I see what he did in the postseason and I think "I need someone like THAT on my team" unless I work for OKC or GSW. Every team with legit championship aspirations is going to need a dynamite one-on-one player on their roster against these superteams (and against teams in the past tbh), and there aren't really that many in the league now imo.

Is this based off of some retarded advanced metric or the RS? There aren't 15 players in the world better than Kyrie, let alone 25.

He has ranked outside of the top 300 in RAPM 2 of the last 3 regular seasons. Its like he cannot be bothered to play until the playoffs where he is a completely different player. Playoff Kyrie is a top 15 player. RS Kyrie isn't CLOSE to a top 25 player.

Yet, he was on the All-NBA team during his last healthy regular season. Odd.

if this was based off the advanced metrics or the regular season then Curry would be the clear cut #1 since he literally just had one of the goat regular seasons. instead he's ranked #3. so really no consistency with these rankings. really picking and choosing different criteria for different players.
