View Full Version : Why won't Kevin Love be an All-star?

I mean, Draymond Green/Jeff Teague/Kyle Korver/Chris Bosh and such all got the 'Wins matter' treatment. In which an important 3rd fiddle or 2nd fiddle on a winning team got the nod despite not having the 'Stats' for it due to sharing court with the league's top dogs or a dominant ball sharing system (spurs/hawks)
What kind of stats does Love need to put up to regain his All-star status?
I mean, the guy deserves consideration.
Weren't the Cavs like 30-11 when it was time to call the all stars? And wasn't Love holding the ship together until Jan with bron when Kyrie was out?
Give the man some love. Appreciate Kevin's greatness and sacrafice.

Played lockdown defense on the UMVP with the title on the line when it mattered the most. Show some respect.

I voted for him several times. He might make it into the all star game next season.

I voted for him too.
I hope he gets in.
He really helped the Cavs have a successful season when Irving was out.
And he was an absolute boss in the Hawks series.

The first year wasnt that great for him.
The second year he was well on his way to becoming an all star until Kyrie came back

I think Kevin has a great year. I think the first half of the season you see him and Kyrie tearing it up.
Lebron may be motivated, but it's a long season. He's going to be in cruise control and come end of Feb he will ramp it up.
It'll be interesting to see how Dunleavy and others mesh.

In general, I think Love is ACTUALLY the best PF in the East. The West has all the guys just as good or better like A Davis, Blake, Dray, LMA, etc. So between that AND winning a ring with the Cavs, he'll start going on another streak of All Star games. We also have to keep in mind that Bron-Kyrie-Love haven't been together very long. ESPECIALLY when u consider the injury sitiuation. Plus T Lue will have a full season to help the team gel even more.
His numbers on the Cavs took a hit and the perception of Love was he wasn't the right fit for the Cavs. From there, some teams overachieved in the East so some guys got rewarded. So K Love just fell into a bit of a rut. BUT history shows that guys who win rings get an advantage for the All Star Game. And if anything, the league knows what Love can do with more shot attempts. They know he can put up 26 points and 13 boards in a season. He's just taking a lesser role on the Cavs in order to win rings.

I think Love is just getting shafted a bit. I get frustrated watching him because it seems like there's no such thing as an "easy" shot for him. But I think he's prob. the fourth best player in the EAST and 17 and 9 or 10 rebounds with 37% 3ball shooting is pretty damn good. Cavs should make him an all star from here on out!
