Bill Reiter posted an interesting article that really relates to alot of the things we discussed here lately.
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/putting-the-nbas-stars-into-tiers-there-arent-many-true-superstars/
I'll sum it up for you guys who don't feel like reading it.
Tier 1 - Superstar
Lebron James
Steph Curry
Kevin Durant
Anthony Davis
Tier 2 - Almost a Superstar
James Harden
Chris Paul
Russell Westbrook
Paul George
Kawahi Leonard
Blake Griffin
Carmelo Anthony
Demarcus Cousins
Tier 3 - Stars on the Rise
Karl Anthony Towns
Kyrie Irving
Draymond Green
John Wall
Damian Lillard
How many of you guys agree with him?
How many of you disagree?
He provides plenty of reasoning for each pick he makes.
I think this helps considering how much arguments there were about Kawahi and Kyrie's status in the league right now on ISH.

The overrating of this dude knows no bounds. I remember Bill Simmons ranking him #1 on the Trade Value Column in 2015. Like are you ****ing serious?

I know right?
In his article he states DMC and John Wall are lowered in their rankings due to not winning.
Anthony Davis was not relegated despite that,
But everything into account, his team was torn apart by injuries.

Steph Curry isn't in the same Tier as LeBron. Maybe Durant is, but Curry definitely isn't.

In a couple of months all the Davis naysayers will eat crow, and if this thread will be bumped, they'll feel stupid.

I don't see how anyone could have Anthony Davis on Tier 1 having actually watched him play.
Or wait... is this post about fantasy basketball? Or: what will the tiers be 2 years from now? If so, maybe.

I'm 100% confident that won't be the case. Even when he is healthy (which is never) - he's nothing but an empty stats guy with no go-to moves or clutch abilities. Anybody who watches this dude knows he's softer than butter and isn't a winner at the NBA level and never will be. He's on some Kevin Love in Minnesota shit.

Ever heard of context? #1 was the only right spot for him. A 22 year old athletic freak who's only getting better by the year who had just led his team to the playoffs. In which he averaged 32 points. Against the about to be champs.

Westbrook is definitely tier 1.

James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Curry are all on the same level imo. LeBron and Durant are in their own tier.

Why do people keep ranking Durant higher than him? Nobody was doing it in the regular season and Durant did nothing in the playoffs to be ranked higher. In fact, he was clearly outplayed by Curry and lost to his team in the playoffs, that on top of being nowhere near him in the regular season.
Then he runs to Curry's team and people still think he's a better player?

Horrible, cringeworthy assesment.Durant did nothing but murder Kawhi head to head and outperform Curry on BOTH sides with much less help. And then proceeded to watch curry put up the worst finals performance in history. Durant is easily better than Curry and everyone with a brain knows that already. Do we really need to wait 3 months whended Durant is the clear-cut best player on the Warriors to roast your dumbass? I say let's do it now

I just don't buy Curry that much. He's a great, great player, though. I think KD is at a similar level as a scorer and is prob. even better when you consider that he can get to the freethrowline and get shots off whenever even when his 3ball is off. In the playoffs KD shot like 31% from three and still averaged like 28 ppg. He's also an elite level defender when he wants to be. KD is a 6'10" guard who can defend at an elite level and score at a GOAT level, and i think he can get you more on a team like the 76ers than curry could. I wasn't one of those people that EVER thought Curry was actually better than KD.

If you want to start a franchise, you definitely have to go with Durant over Curry.

Definitely? Ugh...just no.
You guy are letting a clearly not 100% Curry in the payoffs color things too much.
I have no issue with someone taking Durant, but Curry is getting under-rated here now.
What more does Durant need to truly make his mark by winning in the playoffs? The franchise came through and gave him everything he needed to win at least 1 title while he was in OKC...and he didn't get it done.
That is all we know about Durant so far. He's an all time great player that couldn't win with an elite running mate and quality teams...then ran to the easiest situation possible.
Start a franchise for sure with him? Better hope you have an all time great team around him...or he's bolting based on what we know of him to date.

At this point Lebron is in his own tier. He's the only player in the league that is top 3-5 on both offense and defense.
Tier 2: Curry/Durant
The rest is ok with AD being in the "almost" tier. And if Dray is a rising star Klay has to be as well.

No one is saying Anthony Davis is never going to be great, just that he hasn't done anything to warrant being above some of the tier 2 players AS OF YET.
Anthony Davis' insane talent and potential isn't some deep secret.
Maybe in a couple of months Davis will belong in tier one. I wouldn't be at all surprised. 6'10 with 7'5 wingspan and guard skills and mobility... yeah. But we can't just assume and put him there yet. List is based off what they've done and what they've shown.
If you want to argue he's done enough to be tier 1, then go for it.

@op actually not a bad list if based solely on regular season performance. Still waiting on the day nba 2k has different ratings for guys for reg season, playoffs and finals. Finals Steph Curry myteam card will be like an 80 low gold.
