Rick Carlise is a great coach.
And these are not bad pieces to work with.

Sans a breakdown by Dirk, I think you are not far from the truth.
Except for one season 3 years ago the Mavs are a fixture at the playoffs and are very solid.

Question is, how good is Barnes going to be for them?
Will he manage to do what Ellis did when he and Dirk were at their best? Nearly toppled the 2014 Spurs that burned the heat to the ground.

The problem with Dallas is that Dirk's still their best player and he isn't getting any younger. Last year was probably close to a best case scenario for him at his age.

Also, Bogut's rather injury prone and they don't have a good back up.
