They're so lucky they have KP. They need to end this win-now crap and just build through the draft. Rose, Melo, Noah, Lee, etc are nowhere near KP's window of competition. They're just squeezing out treadmill wins, they'll get 32-38 wins and an OK lotto pick.
Imagine how promising they'd look if they flipped some of these vets for picks and ended up with Josh Jackson or Dennis Smith Jr.

5 years away from being 5 years away. Their best chance to win is now and they are all in.

This Knicks core has literally zero shot to win anything meaningful at all. Rose is on a steep decline, Melo already looks old, Lee is just a solid role player, and Noah has been close to done for a couple years now.
Their best chance to win is by getting a proper young core around KP and letting them grow into wins...like Minny, like LA, etc.
You'll realize this when young cores like KAT-Wiggins-Dunn-Lavine are near the top of the league in a few years while KP has no elite talent his age next to him. Meaningless treadmill wins with the Roses and Noahs of the league mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

It means everything. Getting KP exp in playoffs even as an 8 seed is way better than tanking every year and praying the Knicks hit on a draft pick. Then watching him walk away when they whiff.

Dumb team building logic. This is the exact garbage NOLA is doing with Davis, trying to squeeze out shitty wins with the Tyreke Evans and busted up Jrue Holiday when they should've built through the draft. Meanwhile Minny played it smart, took their Ls and now have the best young core in basketball.
Getting the 8th seed through a bunch of washed up vets doesn't mean jack shit. All it means is that when those washed up vets are useless altogether, KP is going to be totally alone. And the thing about loading up your team with washed up vets...you can do it literally whenever. If you whiff on the draft, then do it. But the elite talent in the draft >>>>> broke D-Rose, Noah, etc.

Even if that does work out. That has been a 10yr process. Started with k-love, whiffed on draft picks around him. Now they are starting again with KAT. And hopefully all these guys around him work out. Maybe. Who knows. But it has been a long process.

I live in Queens NY, and played all 10 years of school basketball in Queens (MS, HS, College). I dont want to hear anyone giving me shit for being a Knicks fan. Not when I have been putting on for my city my entire life

Best of luck mate.
I think the Knicks are going to get better if they stick to KP.
He's only had one year, but he already seems solid.
Worse case scenario I think he is a poor man AK47.
Best case scenario he is something we havn't quite seen yet,
A guy with length, a jumpshot -and- the ability to finish inside and send shots backwards. Something that if Dirk had, he would've been the GOAT PF. (Not that he is that far behind in the eyes of some.)

Knicks Fam? Good luck with that.
1 pre-season game. Not a big deal. But I have to admit I was concerned by Rose and Lee's TOTAL lack of defensive effort. Shameful.
KP hasn't missed a step, and Kuzminskas looks like a stud. I'll give them a 15 game reg. season window before I start getting judgmental.
