I live in Brevard... mandatory evacuation for a lot of people that live beach side right now.

I'm going to wait 12-16 hours before I make a decision to leave or not... category 4... yeah no thanks, lol.

That's some real shit.

I have been outside dicking around during a category 1 though. They're not bad. But 4? LOLLLL no.

Imagine sticking your head out the window going 70mph... now double that... that's how strong a cat 4 is.

The eye is projected to be at the FL/GA line by Friday @ 8pm EST.

So pretty good depending on where you're flying to.

Flying up to NY.

I've been having bad luck on flights this year, hopefully this hurricane doesn't shake things up to much. A couple weeks ago flying delta I had an engine blow up during take off as we were getting close to 30,000 feet. Had to land back in ATL and take another plane :wtf:

Scary shit. **** that.

But... actually seeing the movie Sully made me feel better. At least I know that even during dual engine failure it's not like the plane is going to fall straight out of the sky... at least you can make somewhat of an attempt to glide somewhere.

That doesn't even make sense. There's no way that even with a 50 foot saw, much less a 2 foot one, that you could possibly saw a state off... never mind the fact that it wouldn't just float away like that. Not to mention... even if you could saw it off, it would take a hell of a lot longer than that. Stupid cartoon is stupid. No wonder our children are getting progressively dumber.

That's why I don't fly. When I flew to Afghanistan, I was unconscious the whole way.

I took a flight to Vegas in April, but before THAT, I hadn't flown for years. Took a flight from Houston to Cincinnati during a storm; worst thing I've ever done. People screaming, shit flying everywhere. Super loud the whole way.

Lady next to me was reading a magazine and sipping coffee like it was no big deal.

I spent last weekend in Hilton Head. I was going to go this weekend but switched because of a scheduling conflict. Glad I did.

Flying is sketchy man. Every time I leave the mid west or south there is always tornado warnings or shit weather.

I wasn't to worried at first, it was a loud ass explosion but the plane was still moving fine and I was trying to keep my cool for the hot girl sitting next to me. I didn't begin to become worried until I looked at the flight attendants face. She was so worried, and looking around frantically at that moment I knew this wasn't standard procedure.

Yeah, crazy how that can happen. There's another system heading for Bermuda that could push Matthew back. Serious flooding if that happens.

Good luck out there...

Seems like the eye of the storm is now projected to go further east away from Florida.

You folks will probably just be getting a lot of wind and rain.

2 million people without power.

Flooding in 3 states

Tons of rain still coming down in Carolina

The Category 1 hurricane was dropping 8 to 20 inches of rain in the Tar Heel State and southeast Virginia.
"This rainfall is leading to record-breaking flooding over portions of eastern North Carolina, and it may result in life-threatening flooding and flash flooding elsewhere across the region," the National Hurricane Center said.
