Willy caused the Republican Revolution. The Dems had full control of The House except for a short period for 40 years straight until Willy got in office. It wasn't until the Republicans took over that the economy took off. Do you remember that? :oldlol:

Bullshit, the economy was doing even before the 1994 elections--Bubba's first two years in office saw the creation of over 7 million jobs.

Once GWB got in office, the economy immediately stagnated (save for a few years during the housing bubble) and then collapsed. Republicans suck at economics.

 Such selective memory

The economy was already picking up towards the end of Bush Sr term and the tech boom had already peaked and was spiraling down during the last year of Clinton's term taking the economy with it. If Bush was responsible for the tech bubble burst then you must automatically assume Obama was responsible for The Great Recession.

I will admit Slick Willy became a better leader after the American people soundly rejected his ideology and elected Republicans in a complete bloodbath of the Democrat legislature. He shelved all his ideas after that, and just lead through polling. He not only allowed the Republicans to push forth welfare reform but he actually backed them because that was what was popular even though it was contrary to his nature. Leading through polling made him a popular man, and he was having the time of his life being am adored figure no matter what frustrated Republicans threw out him.

The economy was already rebounding? Welp, thank the Democrats in Congress then.

The 2000s economy was still in the shit well after the very mild early dot com recession ended. To compare it to an economic meltdown like the Great Recession is laughable. Face it, the GOP-controlled Bush era sucked, saved for a few years during the housing bubble.

They did well in the 90s because Bill Clinton was there. Period.

8 years under Bush = zero private sector job growth + two unpaid wars + worst recession in 80 years. Republicans suck ass.

Wrong. The economy did better during the end of Bush41 than the beginning of Clinton.

Of Marco Rubio didn't betray the tea party on illegal immigration, he would be the nominee and the next president.

I remember people like Laura Ingraham BEGGING him on air not to go soft on illegal immigration telling him it would split the party.

In what sense? Don't say GDP growth or I will laugh my ass off at you.

Just because the recession was over doesn't mean everything was hunky dory--we still had to climb out of the hole. The painful recovery cost Bush the 1992 election.

Bush's tenure was a dream scenario for GOP theory- little to no regulation of the financial industry coupled with massive tax cuts for the 'job creators'.

How did that work out in reality? :lol

Like I said, I consider myself a Democrat...

I think Republicans may be money hungry assholes. They may be a bit less accepting of things like immigration, sexuality, etc...

But the US Democratic part is a scary thing that is seemingly attempting to undermine the whole of the country. This is seen as normal political corruption, and really, I feel we have no idea of the extent of it.

The Democratic party is similar to the idea of 'the antichrist' except not in a religious sense, it is something coming forth making promises, appearing good, and manipulating the way you see things so that you believe it's actually working. It's not a good look.

Now, you can say maybe the Republican party is the same way, and maybe that's true. I can believe it. Maybe whatever this 'thing' is has pervaded everything, but it is there. It might not bother some people, but it bothers me.

We basically can't do shit, but at least we should be able to look at the situation we are in and find a common ground, cuz all of this divide and conquer shit is working v well.

That doesn't mean I don't support Democracy. It's like if you said wtf are you doing "Black Lives Matters" people? And someone said, "What, you don't think black lives matter?!"

It's the same with democracy; it's founded on the ideas of being 'progressive', but it's really eroding our country and, to the people who don't have an appropriate sense of self, citizens as well.

Also, to cut my conspiracy short, keep in mind Bush was from an entrenched political 'family' just like Hillary is. So I think it will be similar to that.

Enjoy tho. You make the decisions in your life. The best you can do is really, really think about them and research them, and never let bias or what people are telling you change your convictions. If you are doing that, good on ya.

Nice post, too bad all democrats on this board only want to talk about Donald Trump, and nothing about policies and what's really going on. I tried starting some debate in a couple of threads, but they all disappear after I write a "lengthy" post :(

Psuedo Religious Nonsense.

This is actually a good point.

Specifically, how is 'it' (whatever the hell you're talking about) 'eroding' our country? I don't know if you are old enough to remember 2007ish... But no one who isn't clinically insane would argue that we were better as a country then than we are now.

Also, to cut my conspiracy short, keep in mind Bush was from an entrenched political 'family' just like Hillary is. So I think it will be similar to that.

And both Bush Presidencies were nothing to brag about. 3 recessions between them, including the Great one. Like I said earlier- Dubya's Presidency was a conservative's wet dream- Glass-Steagall regulations gone, tax cuts for the 'job creators' (AKA same bullshit the Donald is pushing now). Republican President Dubya Bush had a Republican House and Republican Senate. Look at the results.

Now compare that to the Clinton presidency when the country experienced its greatest economic period on record.

2 totally different political family legacies.

Enjoy tho. You make the decisions in your life. The best you can do is really, really think about them and research them, and never let bias or what people are telling you change your convictions. If you are doing that, good on ya.
