So, I woke up at 9:30 this morning, went to the dining hall at my school, ate breakfast (an omelet made my the crepe lady, Maria), and head to my 10:30 class. I took my midterm and that class and I think I aced that ****ing shit so I'm feeling pretty good. After class, I went to the school gym and worked out a little bit (training to be a wrestler kinda idk for sure). When 1:40 rolls along, I head over to the Business School hall to attend the very first meeting of the Communications Society. At the meeting, I talked to a few guys who were juniors and got invited to play some poker with them off campus. Since I am always open to meet new friends I cancelled my date with this girl I met at a party I was at a few days ago and once 7pm rolls along, I head over to the off campus address. When I arrived at the house I knocked on the door and an older asian woman answered the door. She said "you looking for students, downstair!' so I walked down stares into a basement. The person that I met at the club meeting was sitting at a round table with 7 other guys, They all glared at me and one of them told me "closed the door behind you and take a seat there", pointing at a seat. I did as I was told and sat down. The person I met at the meeting introduced everyone and then we went over the rules. Texas Hold em minimum 20 dollar buy in max 100 dollars, money is exchanged through venmo after the night. So without further adieu, I agreed to buy in $50 and we began. By the first two hours I had hit triples, two pairs, and a few straights, and was really feeling me self. I started bluffing, showing them my buff. By the time 1 am came, I was up $70. I tried to leave after awhile but they kept suckering me in, offering me alcohol and a ride back when everyone was done. Being the sucker I am I stayed and continued to play. I continued to hit two pairs, triples and a few other good hands but for what seemed like an eternity, I kept losing at the river(the last card) even when I was atleast a 70% favorite going in. By the end of the night I was down ****ing $280 dollars (thats just about a weeks paycheck for me because im a part time student worker). Worst part is once I told them i had no money left, one of the bigger guys punched me and the next thing I know, I'm outside 3-4 blocks from their house without my wallet or phone. All I had on me was a note saying "thanks for your money, dont try anything because we know where u dorm". I am so upset not am I only broke and cannot afford a train ticket back home this weekend but I am too scared to tell my parents because i dont want them to know I gamble. On top of that I don't think I can even be an active member of the communications club. any advice is appreciated, what do I do?
