View Full Version : Warriors will win 75 Games this Year

This is my official prediction. I know people are hesitant to believe - saying they won't be trying as hard this year to win in the regular season and thus won't be able to pull off another 70 win season, as they save their energy and efforts for the playoffs.

Here's the thing... they will own everybody with 70% effort. They will break the record for 3's surpassing what they did last season. People will be very upset at times as the Warriors steamroll the league. People will be talking shit about Durant's decision, calling him a coward and a phony. But he will dominate. He will make it look easy. By the end of the season people will realize why the Warriors system is the GOAT. It will unleash Kevin Durant from the hellhole that was OKC ... the lack of passing and offensive talent on that team was abysmal and uncoordinated, ugly and disjointed. The Warriors will move the ball seamlessly and find the open man regularly. They will finish off jumpshots with precise accuracy from 3 point range and midrange. Durant will receive a huge amount of points in the paint at times from transition and well executed cuts to the basket. He will demonstrate his high basketball IQ by finding the open man and thus will receive an uptake in assisting numbers by virtue of being surrounded by 2 of the greatest 3 point shooters in basketball history. Understandably, he will see many open shots himself which will almost certainly make him more efficient from the field than he previously was in OKC* (a system where he scored more ppg from isolation attacks that anybody else in the league*)

Durants statline will look something like this: 26 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists on 57% from the field.

He will be the leading scorer and rebounder for his team. He will be the work-mule for Golden State. He will be a very durable and consistent scorer and decision maker for the Warriors.

I believe Durant will win MVP and the media and fans will lighten up on the criticism as they witness a highly dominant player on a highly dominant team. If there is anything an American fan is in love with it is a superstar player on a superstar team. Almost everybody is enamored with greatness. They will learn not to worry about how the team came together. They will learn to appreciate what's it like to witness pure, undiluted excellence in it's purest form.

The Warriors are winners at the highest level of sports. This upcoming Warriors team may be regarded as the best team (and eventually dynasty) in the history of sports when it's all said and done. As a result, this thread will forever be bump-able even 35 years down the line.

Ultimately, I believe Durant wins 5 championships with Golden State. It is hard to forecast the future long-term but I am confident he wins at least 5 championships. I believe he will win Finals MVP in three consecutive seasons starting this year.

That's a substantial prediction.

Unfortunately LeBron can't play every position and can't single-handedly stop the barrage of 3-pointers and overall offensive talent of the Warriors.

Durant brings the ultimate missing piece to an illustrious puzzle the sporting Gods have failed to put-together until Durant made his decision. You can thank the 2008 Celtics and 2010 Heat for setting the stage for the most giant super-team in NBA history.

You guys are too busy focusing on individual players. 1 person is not enough. Unless another super-team is formed in the next coming years then there's nothing that can be done about the Warriors winning the championship every year. The only possible thing that will stop the Warriors is unplanned misfortune. (injuries)

We can only assume they will be healthy. So the assumption is that they'll win the championship year after year.

They are not winning 70 games. Mark my words. Teams are waiting/ready for them. Spurs will finish them with Gasol and Aldridge inside. Getting rid of Bogut even tho he is injury prone was a huge mistake. :facepalm They have no inside protection. :biggums:

I sincerely doubt they win 75 or even 70+.

a) they won't have the motivation

b) they will want to be at their best in the playoffs and not run themselves into the ground like last year

c) they have less depth

As for winning the title they are overwhelming favorites but I still think they will take a step back defensively and they have a shorter rotation which means their starters will need to expend more energy.

Teams will figure them out. They're not perfect; they still have weaknesses. Curry will be attacked all year long after those finals. While Durant is a good defender, he makes a lot of mistakes; and that will be exploited. They'll struggle on the glass against bigger teams. And beyond that, they have poor discipline as a squad; from Curry to Klay to Durant, they all seem to get crucial turnovers in the worst of times (not Green though, his BBIQ is ridiculous).

They're the best team and the fav's for sure, but they got weaknesses.

Sit back and think about this team. On paper, probably the best offensive lineup ever assembled but think objectively and you get different results.

1. Big 3 Boston only won 1 title together. People say this started the big 3 in the modern era.

2. Heatles only won 2 out of 4 titles. People expected them to be better than the 96 Bulls. You remember the hype with them. Did not exceed expectations but they won.

Key weaknesses

1. Bench is weak. Lost a lot of key players.
2. No rim protection. (main weakness).
3. Defense is going to suck ass.
4. Iggy is a year older.
5. Every game will be a playoff game for them.

Kevin Durant is still Kevin Durant. Just because he switched teams doesn't mean he's going to change as a player. He is 28 years old. He's not going to get any better. He has his habits and tendencies. He's still going to be a dumb ass and Westbrook isn't going to hide his weaknesses anymore.

1. Turnover prone in the 4th quarter.
2. Bonehead decision maker.
3. Too ISO driven.
4. LeBron's bitch. Check the head-to-head matchups.

Too many what ifs. This was a move to take the weight off of Curry's shoulders. I feel one of two guys will get injured, so if one of the key guy's are injured then you lose some games and chemistry. A lot of things are going to happen this year. They will not win 75 games. I am going to bookmark this thread. The NBA is too unpredictable now and you can't say this will happen and the opposite always does.

Conclusion: This Warriors team will win at least one title but the next 5? I don't think so and do you know why? There's a thing called the CBA. There's no way they can keep this core together. What if KD opts out? Curry is going to get the max. I feel Klay is going to sabotage this and he is going to leave the team. I have a strange feeling about Klay just going by his body language and his interviews during the offseason. He's the odd man out here. HE's going to mess things up. Warriors will win another title but I doubt it's a dynasty. People claimed the same thing the last time and they lost to the Cavs.

if their bench performs the way it did in the first half of the season last year, sure.

Warriors are still going to be really good.

Probably not as good as last year. The biggest difference in terms of a positive for them this year is either Durant or Curry should always be on the floor which means their offense will rarely drop off.

Losing Bogut and Barbosa is going to hurt more than some people think. Bogut was easily their best interior defender.

Additionally, I think the Cavs game plan to keep offensively switching to the guy Curry was guarding is not going to go completely unnoticed by the rest of the league. Aside from his mediocre defense, it wore his ass out to the point he was a shell of his optional self offensively... missed jumper after missed jumper and not enough energy to do his routine flashy bullshit that freed him up for nearly uncontested jumpers. It really got the Warriors out of synch offensively and had Green not exploded from 3 during game 7, it would have been a blowout in favor of the Cavs. Green is a guy that lost to... Kevin Hart... in their 3 point contest.

They will probably win around 60 to 65. Anyone know where I can put money on this online as an American?

I don't think the Warriors will go for the record. They'll win in the high 60s and rest players when need be.
