ou have all seen games that left us in awe. Kobe's 81 points against Toronto. Michael Jordan's Flu game. Magic Johnson playing Center to win the championship. Some games just get etched into your memory. Some come in the regular season. Some in the playoffs.

This time we'll talk about:

Golden State Warriors Vs Sacramento Kings 23/1/2015

What led into the game:

Scramento Kings:
The Kings hired Coach Mike Malone prior to the Season's start. It was then followed by a dream like first step to the season, 8-4 under the new Head Coach. Sports Sites raved about Cousins new leadership, dubbed him a new superstar in the making and crowned him as the next great big in the league. Things took a catastrophic tumble when Cousins went down with illness, missing 10 games and seeing the Kings record tumble along with it. The new Head coach was subsequently dismissed, and Karl Malone was hired. The Kings early optimisim was all but down the drain by the time they met the Warriors, the Kings nurturing a three game losing streak.

Golden State Warriors:
The Steve Kerr Experiment was working wonders. So was the Draymond Green Experiment. And the Iggy Off-the-Bench Experiment. And the-- You get the point. Everything was clicking for the League's newest contender. Their last defeat three games ago, they were looking to extend their winning streak. Klay Thompson was having a career year, and Draymond Green's defense and playmaking took the league by storm. Stephen Curry, the resident Superstar did not see a spike in his numbers, but the Win totals and the way the Golden State Juggernaut warped around his gravitational pull would eventually earn him the MVP.

Game Breakdown:

The Warriors started with excellent defense and their usual superb offense. A Draymond Green Three off a Curry Assist with about 7 Minutes left in the 1st Quarter put the Warriors on an early 20-6 lead. The Warriors offense was flawless. Passing the rock to the open man, passing up good shots for excellent ones.

It was the Spurs 2014 Masterpiece, executed by more talented individuals.
Pass, Drive, Kick out, Pass, Drive, Kick out until a 3PT Shot, a Layup or a Wide open Midrange shot made themselves avaliable.

But the Kings were not about to ley down their arms so easily. They went on a furious run mostly fueled by Fastbreak points, and gritty, messy shots from the post. Cousins showed sparks of that energy that led his team to the best start in years, not giving up offensive rebounds, and completing and-ones.

Sacramento's Collison started the 3rd Quarter with a wide open bomb from beyond the arc. 56-54 To Golden State. The game stayed close.

With both teams tied at 58-58, something was starting to bubble up.
Magic.

Fastbreak Three pointers usually happen with a pass. A man sets up in the corner and the one running the break will send the ball whizzing to him with the shooters feet already set, ready to bank in on the open shot.

Rarely will you see this.

Catch, Take two steps, Stop, Rise up - Money.
Golden State's Transition 3s were the new Ally-oops. A new sound graced the Oracle Arena - The sound of 19,596 jaws collectively hitting the floor all at once whenever a Splash Brother decided to ignore the consensus for what is a 'Good shot'. But it went in, so who cares, right?

Something about Klay's performance in that quarter was different. And his teammates saw that look in his eyes. He was a scorching hot beast, and they were more then willing to feed the monster.

Some of his shots made absolutly no sense. Two guards, both close, two feet behind the line. In.

A hand in the face? In.

From the Post? In.

The Ball -Wanted- to in in the hoop. And Klay Thompson was more then happy to assist.

The Guy wasn't just shattering worlds and burning record books, he was having the time of his life. He was livid.

Seeing this game was a constant transition from rubbing the back of your head and picking up your jaw. And the Crowd absolutly loved it.

At some point you almost felt like the Scramento Kings just went full 'F*** it'' mode. Defenders dejectedly accepted that they were on the wrong side of history, they weren't even mad at this point. On any given night Scramento Players look like they'd rather be anywhere else.

But tonight? It was a new low even for them. The Shrug by Omri Casspi here is just pure gold. ''Why Me.''

Klay Thompson took 13 Shots. He only scored -twice- from the Free throw line. The rest? Field Goals Attempts that went above disgrunteled defenders, much to the elation of the sellout Oracle crowd.

He went Nine for Nine from downtown.
Hack-a-Shaq is a problem that the league has to fix?
How about having a special 3PT line relevent only to Klay, 2 extra feet back?

Klay Thompson finished with 52 Points on 33 minutes. He also sported a game high +38 on the Box score. GSW Won the game 126-101.
Oh. He also recorded a mind boggling 37 points in the 4th Quarter, going 13/13 and 2/2 From the line.

After the game he was asked by an awe struck reporter -
''..D-Did you see the defense?'' She asked, mumbling with glee.
''..No, No. I was wide open.''

It was a Magical game, and absolute joy to watch. We're not likely to see this record broken in our lifetime. But then again, records are made to be broken.
