View Full Version : AMC first option

Curry is the most efficient scorer, best ball handler, and distributor on Golden State, he is the first option.

It will be a mistake for Durant, who is the less efficient player, to be taking a higher volume of shots.

Steph also got to play with Klay, Iggy, Barnes, and Draymond, all taking away attention from him. Durant on the otherhand had to play with Westbrick, Waiters, and Ibaka.

Brings up James Harden and Reggie Jackson

And individually, Russell may be better than Draymond and Klay, but the gap in talent between those two and Waiters and Ibaka is far greater.

Durant should be the first option. That doesn't mean he needs to lead the team in scoring. Curry is the PG, so if he wants to shoot, he'll have plenty of opportunity. In a halfcourt setting, we need to get Durant touches at multiple different spots on the court.

whatever. both are all time greats and on the same team. no need to make it a competition over who gets the shots and the spotlight. it was that crap that undermined OKC with Westbrook and Durant. Both Curry and Durant are unselfish team players so I'm sure they'll make it work. Really just depends on the game with whose hot and whose got the better matchup. Like against the Spurs where Kawhi is on Durant then Curry should carry the load, against the Clippers who don't have capable wings than it should be Durant.

Yep now compare to Durants 2014 season.
Durant has been dropping 27-32 PPG every season since like 2011.
Curry has one season where he broke from 20-24 PPG.
Not to mention Durants playoffs and finals PPG are much higher.

Durant is clearly your #1 option

Durant is one of the best and most versatile scorers in NBA history. Four scoring titles and a 27.4 ppg career average. It might be a 1a/1b situation, but I expect Durant to lead the team in fg's and fga's.

Curry was suffering from his MCL injury during the Finals. The most accurate assessment would be to look at Curry's latest performance while he was 100% healthy which would be the 2016 regular season. Which is used in the OP.

Oh right the knee injury that in the Blazers series he claimed "he was back" from and then continued to put on a good performance vs OKC.
It was only until LeBron kicked his shit in where the "MLC" injury excuse kept coming back.
STFU nobody buys it you're not his doctor and don't know the seriousness of his "injury".

Saying that he is back is no indicator on his health. He is just merely stating that he has returned from absence.

Warriors' Stephen Curry on the Finals: 'I wasn't 100 percent, but who cares?'

The back-to-back MVP acknowledged something that everybody already knew

Is this surprising in any way? No. Curry clearly wasn't the best version of himself for most of the postseason, and that wasn't just because of regular wear and tear and more focused defenses. The back-to-back Most Valuable Player could not get to the basket or finish there the same way he did in the regular season, and he could not create separation as easily on the perimeter, either. Curry's health was a constant topic of discussion during the playoffs, particularly in the NBA Finals.

Is Curry making an excuse? No. I mean, he literally said, "Who cares?" During the playoffs, Curry deflected questions about his injury, saying he was healthy enough to do what he needed to do on the court. Even now, he didn't go into much detail. It is obvious that he is not using his knee injury to explain away the fact that the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the Finals. Given how close Golden State was to winning, he must still feel like the team should have done so regardless.
