View Full Version : 2016-17 season is the first that LeBron has no pressure

He's had so much weight on his shoulders since his rookie year....this year will be the first he can somewhat relax and laugh to himself throughout the reg. season.
He'll still be in the MVP discussions though.

Pressure to repeat?
I can't see why this would be the first season he has no pressure when he's been in a similar spot before in Miami after winning a ring

You're fooling yourself if you think Bron not hoisting that trophy at the end of the season won't cause significant backlash and criticism.
He's Lebron James...he'll always have pressure just because of who he is.
Less than usual, but still more than just about anybody.

No pressure, however if he wins he's easily better than Jordan

Tons of pressure. Cavs won last year cause Kyrie went off and the chef was injured. Just another asterisk chip like 2013. The only legit title he has is 2012

LeBron's won as many titles as Carmelo has playoff series wins

Because winning another one for the Heat isn't close of an accomplishment than winning the first one for Cleveland. The city where above avg/star free agents have stayed away from since their inception in 1970. Had only won one divisional title (1976) before 2009.
Now that he and the rest of the team has brought home a title to Cleveland, a tremendous amount of pressure is off LeBron's back. Especially in the fashion and circumstances it was won.
Now with the GSW situation, nobody expects Cavs to repeat. They're the defending champs, yet not the favorite which I think is bullshit.

I think it helps the younger guys. Kyrie and Love can say they were integral to a championship and that experience helps teams.

Very good analysis !!!!!!!!!!!!
However there is less pressure.... and with that hunger might be less.
*It is his job to motivate his team to want to win another title which sometimes has a hangover from the first accomplishment.
I expect the Cav's to have a Spur type year... then turn it up right before the end of the season to gain acceleration for the playoffs.
Home court advantage will always be important.

And Bron didn't ... you will find difference makers all the time .. how bout War's = Klay carried the team in the playoffs. ... and Bytch Green was ________.

I agree. All the pressure on the Warriors to not lose with 4 of the top 20 players in the league on one team.

He certainly doesn't take any legacy hits by not beating the most stacked team of all time. If he does beat them, it's a HUGE resume boost... We're talking #2 of all time IMO.

He has no pressure? He commented this off-season that he's chasing MJ. You think he's going to coast from now on?

he doesn't have anymore team pressure...he accomplished his goal already by breaking the Cleveland curse...it's all house money now. From HIS OWN OWN PERSONAL side of things, he still wants more titles for legacy purposes.
