I have lived in Oklahoma City before and it sucks shit. No one wants to live there and especially a young man who is a multi millionaire. I can't blame him.

To me FT35 fits perfectly in that shitty town...FT35 seems like that type that would love to hang out at Applebee's on a Friday and Sat night...

KD is a shut-in. He didn't leave OKC because of the night life. He left OKC because he was tired of playing bad basketball.

Yep. OKC is the perfect low-key city for Durant. It's just a shame they couldn't surround him with decent players and good coaching (although Donovan is an upgrade from Brooks)

The Harden trade continues to haunt OKC. Completely sabotaged the franchise. Unbelievably bad trade.

Yes. Coward. Beta. Can't beat them, join them. Never has there been a worst atrocity in OKC besides 1995. KD is Slimothy McVeigh status.

you're truly a well traveled man having lived in the Bay Area, Cleveland, New Orleans, Indiana, and now even OKC.

No ones blaming him for leaving OKC, thats why half of this forum are so f*cking stupid...they can't even get the basic criticism down before they run to the defense.

I used to live in OKC, too. It wasn't a terrible place to live. The truth is KD lived in an amazing neighborhood where his mom lived in the main house and he lived in the pool house. This wasn't a night life type of guy. I actually ran into him at a 7 eleven right before I moved. I am sure I still have the pic.. he was a very chill guy.

KD left because he didn't want his legacy to be that of a ringless star. Can't beat them join them type mindset. The ironic part was he choked away a huge series lead. I am not mad he left... everyone makes their own path.

They do, some of us in life have integrity though and pick the right path....some take the easy path....each to their own I guess.

Gonna be so good when they all choke together and Klay gets his feelings hurt again.

This is perhaps one of the most stupid posts I have read on any forum. I get the idea that people completely disagree with KD joining GSW, no matter what the reason.

But to compare it to the atrocities of Timothy McVeigh is just not cool.

I do and I don't. On one hand, it's incredibly wack that he left after his dismal performance led them to lose to GSW. It really feels like Westbrook pretty much did his part, but KD just threw up some absolute clunkers in games 5 and game 6. All he needed to do was shoot like 44% or something, and he shot under 40 in each of those games. KD played fine in Game 7, but it just feels like he was neutralized at the most important moments. Also, it feels like OKC could beat GSW if they still had KD, but he still bounced and joined the team that he lost to. That's just kind of unforgivable.

On the other hand, when you get to KD's level, MVP, four time scoring champ, a bunch of all nba teams, etc, Rings become important to differentiate yourself from other GOATS. So, he can get this chip and I doubt many people will be talking about in 2030 when he has two or three chips. But man, if he doesn't win? Oh man lmao.

he left because of Westbrook.

It's pretty obvious.

I see sports like a regular career/livelihood. If the opportunity arises to be in a better situation you take it. Better being you're happier. Your personal well being. You don't owe anybody anything. Sucks as a fan. Hate the game, not the player.

However to be paid Durant's salary I would live in Aleppo.

He doesn't have to live there. He can live wherever he wants and go wherever he wants. As you said, he's a mulit-millionaire. How much time do you think Lebron spends in Cleveland?

After all his latest comments on the thought process that led to his decision I don't think "Choked" is the correct term, if you know what I'm saying.

Absolutely.

He let his teammates down, he let the franchise down, and he let the entire city down with his atrocious performance in Games 4-7 against GS after taking a 3-1 series lead.

How does he repay all of these people? By running away with his tail between his legs to join the team that he choked against who has the defending 2x MVP and just won an NBA record 73 games.

You will never see anything like this again in sports. Disgraceful.

Almost every single superstar who has played for only one team has at one point looked around when their teams were not up to par. The players who remained with their teams were fortunate enough to have had been a part of a very successful and winning franchise. Whose to say jordan wouldn't have wanted out if they didn't surround him with the pieces he needed to get over the top?

I would have liked to see him try to get a ring in OKC but can't blame him at all. Its a short window as a superstar and if you don't take action, you are out of your prime chasing rings on contenders.

I hope people do not do what they did with Lebron and forget or try to downplay this in the future if they go on to win rings.

This move is the weakest thing you could do as a superstar player. The league would not be what it is today if Larry Bird had just said "f*ck it, they're too good" and joined the Lakers.

I think Kd left because he realized he simply wasn't good enough to lead that team to a title. It's also said that he doesn't like playing with Westbrook, but i can assure you he would've stayed if they won the title.

From a basketball standpoint, it makes perfect sense. The style of this team fits his playing style perfectly.

Then when you look at it from a business and personal aspect, he is setting himself up for life after basketball. There is a lot of opportunity in the Bay right now.

Lastly, have any of you ever been to Northern California? It's pretty damn great here.

From a competitive standpoint it really is totally disgraceful.

But having travelled to the US multiple times, I know I'll keep going back to Cali before I even remotely give Oklahoma a second thought..so there is that.
