Durant as the first option. As we saw in the playoffs last year highly efficient 3 point shooting can not be sustained through every playoff series. Durant is a career 51% 2 point shooter. Jordan proved that championships can be won with the two point shot and a heavy scoring load. If warriors want to win they will have to go to Durant more then Curry.

What about finals though?

There's no finals option.

Warriors won a championship without Durant, won 73 games and made the finals without Durant, and now all of a sudden he is their only hope? He went to that team because he wanted to be surrounded by great players in a selfless style so that he could have a great shot at a championship. If he wanted it to be mainly about him why leave OKC?

Curry is the most efficient scorer, best ball handler, and distributor on Golden State, he is the first option.

It will be a mistake for Durant, who is the less efficient player, to be taking a higher volume of shots.

Steph Curry not only scored more, but did it more efficiently as well

Steph Curry 2016 TS%:67%
Kevin Durant 2016 TS%: 63%

while that is all good he has not been a reliable first option in the finals.

Warriors were 1 game from winning the Finals and let's be real, Curry choked.

Kevin Durant put up 30.6 ppg on 65% TS in the 2012 finals. for some perspective lebron put up 28.6 ppg on 55.8% TS. so much for the lebron owned kd narrative. lmao

Klay Thompson will average the most points in the Playoffs.

They never really have a first option on offense in Golden State. It was just getting great shots. They same thing will happen this year. Its going to be impossible to defend 3 GOAT level shooters at the same time.

What about finals though?

There's no finals option. They've shamelessly stacked the deck enough to overcome the choking with pure talent.

Why are you comparing Jordan's era when 3 point shooting was irrelevant to this era where 3 point shooting is so prominent? Or making a case for Durant being number 1 to win a trophy, someone whose never won, to Curry who shouldn't be number 1, when they won when that was the case?

:biggums:

As for who should it be, Kerr could either mold his system towards one player or leave under the who gets hot, gets to be the alpha of the game. It doesn't matter as long the as the ship is won. Like someone above said, it's about the open man a lot of the time which will happen a lot more frequently when they don't have a bum SF in the starting 5.

why would we even talk about this. I mean if the Western Conf. Allstars... I mean the Warriors can't win it with this group of players then something is seriously wrong with this team or some other team must be playing out of their minds!

If they made the finals, I'd want them to lose obviously.

I honestly don't know who i'd want as first option...they're equally as likely to blow it
