I'm not saying we are contending and we have 2 to 3 years before anything starts to happen but you will see how good we are for a rebuilding team.

It was a very fast rebuild.

I couldn't believe Vegas had the win over/under of 24.5. I think they'll easily surpass that. They'll be closer to 30 wins than 25 wins.

Yup, with Kobe gone and Luke running the show, we will see a completely different team. A bunch of young guys playing free, hard and with confidence. That's a dangerous combination. It's a new era for sure.

11-12th seed, I can definitely see an early to mid season surge by this team, and everyone will be hanging off their nuts before their late-season tailoff. 2-3 years for sure before they make real noise, but there's a lot a potential...

Well they don't have to suffer through Kobe this year so they have to be better. How much better, we shall see.

Yeah, I actually tried to bet $1,000 on the over at Bovada but they have recently limited bets to $250 for some reason. Sucks.

I actually wish we can fast forward already. There are a lot of players that I have a feeling will be good once they fill out their little man's body and into a NBA body.

Zub and Brandon, once filled up, can do some damage or at least I hope.

We saw how weak Durant was but now he's a grown man and can inflict damage.

The two guys who I love that the "experts" aren't really accounting for who I think will he big contributors off the bench are Nance and Black. Those two guys are extremely active, mobile and athletic.

As a matter of fact, the Lakers bench, as it is, is very good with Clarkson, Nance, Ingram and Black. They'll get the best of a lot of 2nd units this year.

Nance and Black are a lock. I know those guys will be good for them.

I just want our rookies to develop already.

This is probably going to be Randle's make or break year.

I mean, sure, 30 wins and potentially giving up a top 5 pick to Philly... it's actually been a fairly slow rebuild. Look at the 2014 top 10 as an example of the worst teams 3 seasons ago, and every team in it is clearly better than the Lakers this season aside from the 6ers and Kings (arguably this season the Pelicans, too, who traded the 10th pick away). Now, if Russell and Ingram pan out - and Clarkson doesn't stagnate, that's a playoff team in 2-3 years. Randle has some convincing to do still but he could yet be a serviceable PF, Nance has shown flashes, but it's just not that much.

Wasn't OP supposed to stop watching NBA basketball once Kobe retires?

Bosnian Sajo
10-26-2016, 04:10 PM
OP is not a real Lakers fan, he's a Kobe fan.

That said, Lakers are most certainly gonna surprise people this year. We gonna win tonight vs Houston.

SG/SF positions are gonna be a bit tricky, though. Swaggy has impressed during preseason, and Deng is the starter...when it comes to SG, Lou and JC have that locked up.

I wonder where the minutes for Ingram will come from? Thank god we dropped Brown btw...I'm surprised he lasted this long.

If that's all it took to get signed to an NBA contract and make big $$$....it would be a 75 team league.

Russell

The Lakers have quite a few young prospects and while they're not the most talented young core in the league (giving that to the Twolves and Bucks), they sure are deep in promise.

I really hope the Lakers aren't just trying to showcase the young kids to package them in a trade for an established star once their value rises. I want to see this squad stay together and see what they can do a few years down the line. I think Laker fans are ready to watch some young talent develop rather than trying to make the playoffs asap. It'll be hard to build a contender with the way the teams are now.

1. To see what the young Lakers players do.
2. To see what Harden does.

As long as they're better than last year, I'd be correct. With the cancer gone, they'll be a more competitive team.

You looking forward to celebrate your team getting blown out just bc someone called out the cancer for what he was, is a little pathetic :lebronamazed:

I think 30 wins is realistic and anything beyond that will exceed my expectation. Lakers have a lot of firepower but lack experience. But just like what Walton said, the team will not be measured by wins but the progress of their young core. I believe Russell will gonna have to lead this pack in order for us to have a promising team.

What a start to the Lakers season. Beautiful to watch that ball movement and high IQ play.
Already with a win under their belts on opening night :applause: Let's go Lakers. I knew they'd pick up their play big time this season and surpass last year's 19 wins by a landslide:rockon:

Something about them looks good. I haven't seen the Lakers play team basketball like this in quite a while:biggums:

Russell is definitely the leader of this team. He has that natural charisma about him, like he knows he belongs and he wants that role. Not everyone has that. He also has self belief in himself, which is always huge.

I think Randle could be lead dog if he achieves his ceiling...the way he wants the ball late in the ball game and attacks the paints recklessly is unmatched right now for someone who is just 21.

18/7/6/1 on 9/11 FG easily the most impactful player on the court yesterday.

The team reminds me a lot of the 'Lakershow' teams from 93-96. An exciting group with heaps of young talent. How smart they play (so basically how they're coached) will be the major difference though.

Clarkson is a lot like Eddie Jones. Wiry and pure hustle.

Mainly cuz of coach Walton, I think the young Lakers wil make some noise this season. Their young nucleus can surprised many people this season. I like DAngelo's playmaking and quick threes. I like Randle's hustle and agressiveness to the basket. Clarkson looks like he trying to win 6 man of the year while Nick young shockingly became a better defender. Ingram is projected to be the next K.D with unselfishness and he's doing ok so far. Underrated Mosgov will do his work in the paint, and Nance Jr will dunk on u in a second. I'm excited for this young team this year even if they make playoffs or not. What you like about this young Lakers team and what's your expectations for them this season?
