It's not gonna work. They probably won't reach the conference finals. This team is significantly worse than last years.

Oh give it time, he's got one of the best shots in the league and he's on a team with generally great ball movement. It's one game against one of the best teams in basketball (Spurs), they'll have plenty of opportunities to fit him in not to mention playing together on team USA... I do think Curry needs to be the clear leader of the team and Durant should be 1B though. Propping KD up with 29-30 ppg out of the gate may throw the rest off indirectly. They won a championship with team basketball and hustle

It was all good tho when they destroyed the clippers who by many are expected to finish second in the west. :confusedshrug:

They dont want it with Kawhi.
Serious though, you're not gonna win many games against good teams when youre 10+ possessions in the whole because of rebounding. While GSW can and will play better on offense, no reason to think teams like the Spurs/Cavs/Clips wont pummel them on the boards.

Said it when KD singed, say it more emphatically now, LATERAL MOVE BY THE WARRIORS!!!
They basically got a guy who needs the ball in his hands to be effective unless you want to turn him into a Kevin Love in Cleveland spot up shooter which would be an absolute waste of talent, time and money. KD would never in a million years turn into that kind of player and neither Curry, Klay or Draymond have the clout and force of personality of LeBron to turn him into that.
The problem now is that they are WORSE defensively, smaller and will have an alpha dog identity crisis when crunch time comes. Before EVERYONE knew Curry and Klay were going to get every shot when the pressure moments came with Dray and Barnes getting the open look leftovers. That's not the case now specially with Draymond getting a taste of offensive recognition in the past year. Now it's 4 guys who like to score the ball and that may not be a problem when they are blowing teams out but believe me it will when it gets physical and tight in the playoffs.
For this team to work NONE of the big 4 guys can average more than 25ppg, stay tuned to see if they can pull it off!

these points seem contradictory.. you say that none of the big 4 can go over 25 ppg if they want to win, implying you want them to have an equal spread.. but just before you're saying that when crunchtime comes, if theyre all so close together they wont be able to decide who takes the big shots? Wouldnt you want a pecking order established in that case to avoid that problem?
i dont think that will be an issue. Curry and Klay will still let them fly. Durant will handle the ball if those two are sputtering a bit and give the team much needed midrange and FT drawing ability.. Dray will be the guy the defense dares to shoot and he'll take the open ones, but clutch shouldnt be a problem for this team. Their problem will be keeping games close so they can actually get to crunchtime.
i said it as well that losing bogut and depth could make them worse and everyone laughed, especially the bran stan parade and cleveland fans that liked to downplay the big guys value.. the warriors will still get bullied in the playoffs and adding a skinny ass durant isnt helping that.

Clippers aint shit and probably never will be (team seems cursed), despite expectations. Paul is excellent but past his peak and Griffin hasn't really grown much or expanded his game. Jordan cant make a FT or jumper to save his life. Spurs on the other hand are well built, well rounded and Kawhi is in his prime
As far as KD not fitting in... I think the problem

They were playing the Spurs. They'll be fine. That bench has to provide more though.
I was surprised the Spurs were able to get essentially anything they wanted.

To establish a pecking order you don't need your leading guy to score 30 tpols.
Everyone should be happy dividing it up like this:
Curry: 24ppg
Durant: 23ppg
Klay: 21ppg
Draymond: 16ppg
There's the pecking order that has to happen for it to work. If Klay wants to make more of an impact he was to be even MORE of a factor on defense because Kevin is a better offensive player than he is and will probably become the consistent second option to Curry as the season rolls along.

Thing is, KD hasn't averaged less than 25 ppg since his rookie season almost 10 years ago (when he averaged 20 ppg).. I think around 25-26 ppg will be good for him, not his 28 ppg of last season or 32 ppg of 3 seasons ago ... Granted we're talking averages. It'lll fluctuate from game to game, he'll have a huge scoring game here and there naturally, but maybe taking 19-20+ shots a game on average isn't what the Warriors need to truly thrive .. It's gonna take some time and not just for KD but Klay, Green, and Curry too

I found it telling when Kerr said it wasn't KD who had to adapt to them, it was them who had to adapt to KD :lol
That being said, they'll be fine. No 70 wins chasing. Spurs are a scary team when they are going well. Some teams will catch the Warriors off guard. Didn't the Lakers blow them out last year? It happens.

there are too many ways this can go. some experimenting will happen, then lineup stats will emerge.

My prediction is that they will have a worse record than last year...
But that still could be 72 wins lol.

It was one game, stop with the absurd overreactions. They will still win 65+ games and be the 1st seed out West.
