Russell looking like a 6ft4 Chris Paul out there last night, can't believe how much shit this kid gets

Russell does look good.
Though he looks more a scorer and less playmaker so I'm not sure if CP3 is the best comparison. He can rebound though, and the offense seems to run well even if he isn't making the direct assist every time.
But Okafor is under unfair circumstances.
Injury plus losing enviroment. With poor guards to feed him the ball and run the offense.
I think his numbers would improve under a proper offense, at least in terms of efficency. The potential of Russell seems greater though, with Okafor being Al Jeffreson at best, or a brook lopez. (Well, not really worst. But you get my point.)
Russell seems like he could be better.

The best case scenario has materialized for Russ. Everyone knew he had limited athleticism so other aspects of his game had to be on point. And that is the case. His shoot looks so natural and his release is effortless. He has a deadly mid-range game. He is already consistently posting guys up in the post and making shots. He anticipates the action well on D. He just has a great, overall feel for the game.
On top of that, his feet definitely looks lighter than last year. Probably because he's grown more into his man bones and his coordination has improved. But you still see possessions sometimes when he loses the ball because his coordination isn't all there.

limited athleticism is debatable, he doesn't have much hops but you really don't need it when you are 6ft5 playing PG
meanwhile Okafor can't even see the floor, black Enes Kanter
Lakers destroyed 76ers that draft

It's not debatable. You'll still see that affect his game negatively. It's just reality.
And seeing Okafor yesterday close for one of the few times as a pro, it's easy to see he struggles to run up and down the court. Even Kanter was consistently outrunning him. And his D in space is definitely a worry. But his offensive game will be devastating. So he's kind of an odd mix. Great O, average D at best.

omg, this guy is still posting his nonsense from last season. the biggest russell deterer on this site, when he originally sucked russell off and let him cream pie all over his face after watching youtube hightlights.
then all of a sudden started claiming russell wouldnt amount to anything. his celing would be low. heavy feet. blah blah blah. this clowns a (shity) desktop analyst and it shows through and through

But i'm not going to lie, I would've taken Okafor after having evaluated both at the time.

Well if Enes Kanter was actually "black", he'd be killing the NBA.
Okafor is more like Al Jefferson. Yeah they're technically black, but they might as well be white guys.
So he's a black Enes Kanter without the black, and without the FT shooting.

Where do you laker tards get this CP3 comparison nonsense from? You're trying to compare Russell to the best floor general/playmaker/passing pg in the league when all Russell has done is been subpar in that regard so far in the NBA. Russell had 3 assists to 3 turnovers last night...even on a shitty night that would be pathetic for CP3. Russell is also, clearly, much more in love with the 3pter...Paul just took a career high 4.9 last season and you can probably count on two hands how many times he's chucked up 10 or more in a game during his entire career. This is without even mentioning DEFENSE yet...you know...where Chris Paul is 1st team all nba. Russell isn't even an average defensive player at this point.

Smoke is an idiot. D'Angelo has the tools to be a fantastic defender. He makes stops, he gets in the passing lanes, has key steals. Smoke isnt an athlete, he doesnt get it. He just looks at stats like the fat alcoholic subhuman shit he is :lol

You do realize that Okafor is coming off an injury and has only 1 preseason game under his belt right?

Very astute and intelligent response. Having the "tools" to be a good defender and being one are two very different things...James Harden has the tools to be a good defender, but is he one?

I agree with Smoke. Don't compare D'Angelo to some passive, zero impact loser who can't make it out of the second round no matter how many All-Star teammates he has.

These are probably the most cringe-worthy of the laker fans though...the one's who underrate and talk shit on Paul ever since he didn't end up on the team. Russell will be lucky to be half the player Paul is at his best.

Chris Paul lost by 50 on his homecourt in his prime.

You can't gauge somebody's overall attributes based off one game coming off a severe injury and hasn't had the PT for conditioning.
You can only speculate.

Okafor is a bigger shareef abdur raheem.
He's a circumstances player. He doesn't play defense even average and would rather score the ball. he's a 20-22PPG scorer and 9 rebound guy. consistent and can give a team that for the next 10 years.

What are you babbling about? Why would Laker fans have any resentment towards Paul for the trade not going through? He had nothing to do with it.
I talk shit about him because people act like he's the best point guard of all-time next to Magic and beat off to his "advanced" stats and completely ignore that he has had absolutely no team success whatsoever.
And it's not like he played with chumps throughout his career. He's had frontlines of all-star David West/Tyson Chandler and Griffn/DeAndre.
His passive nature is just not conducive to being a #1 option on a contender.
