Looking for a cheap one and found many from 03 to 05 for cheap. I believe BMW era.

These old ones can be mistaken for a later model since their design is classic.

I know they have the best off roading capabilities but what about reliability?

Wanting a 2nd car to offroad and do my outdoors stuff.

I am only familiar with Land Rover Discovery.

This particular erahttp://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/4/753/2789/39381394001_original.jpg

They are unreliable and expensive to maintain, and aren't really great for daily driving. I borrowed an 04 discovery for 2 weeks. It was cool the first day or two but they aren't great drivers. I never took it off road as it wasn't my car.

If you are buying one just to f*ck around with i'd say go for it. But as a daily driver i'd never consider one.

Unreliable British garbage and they are not the status symbols in America like they are in other countries.

Jeep and Toyota have better off-roading capabilities.

Even though they are capable off road, you better be rich if you use them for anything other than sloshing through muddy dirt roads. When you go off road stuff tends to break and RR parts are expensive. Combine that with them being unreliable and you have the reason their resale value is so low. If you want a cool looking SUV and don't mind waiting on parts, finding a mechanic who will work on your car and have money to throw away, go for it.

pretty stupid that you would even consider that vehicle, especially for off roading use.

lol who goes "off-roading" in a range rover? Who are you, prince Henry?

Just trick out your Toyota and go muddin' like all the other rednecks in Ukiah.

They are cheap. As in under 10k and some even at 7k for what is considered the best off roading vehicle in the world.

A lot of great advice and no its not for status symbol since no car should be.

The off roading is amazing. Worth the price of admission. I didn't care till I saw vids of it in action versus other notable offroaders.

I'd rather have an all wheel drive subaru.
