I generally appreciate all of basketball. And any team that is doing great.
Yes im a laker fan and yes i have rooted for gsw especially in the last two previous finals. (I was going for okc from the start of playoffs.
If you really love b ball youll watch more games than just the ones that your favourite team is involved in. And because you are human you will always pick a team to win that game or series or championship.
Now i never ever root for any team playing against the lakers ever. And ill watch every laker game i can. I dont just go for whoever is winning. Thats the difference between a loyal fan and a bandwagon fan..... Your priorities.
So if someone goes for gsw spurs okc cavs etc when their team isnt even in the playoffs then there is nothing wrong with that.

most people here are mad at laker fans rooting for the warriors because it's obviously more about them just rooting against lebron. Most people at least have players they root for on other teams and some have a 2nd team and that's fine.

True. As over it as i am. Ive admitted in the past that lebron is better than kobe but i still get sucked into the stupid kobe vs lebron debates

Been a diehard Nets fan forever and nothing trumps that for me, but I've always rooted for individual players (and sometimes other teams) since I know we aren't contending. I've gone into each of the last 10 full seasons under the realization that we pretty much have a zero percent chance of winning the championship, including the year they gave up all our draft picks for one year, right in the middle of LeBron's prime.
With the way basketball is, of course that doesn't make you disloyal and I really don't care if anyone disagrees. :lol The league has never had TRUE parity the way other sports have come close to having, just based on the nature of basketball and how superstar-driven it is, so it's plain to see if your team is a viable contender any given year. I'd never root for my current favorite player Le2ndGOAT or for another team AGAINST the Nets though, and fans that do that are being disloyal to their favorite team.

I think the bottom line , is when the Lakers were winning , and then started their down slide with Kobe , many fans jumped to Warriors because of their winning ways.

OP you are right nothing cheering for other teams other than your home team.
I am intrigued by a couple teams , and right now Bulls are interesting with my fav player -DWade.
