View Full Version : Judging from what you've seen, do you think the Cavs can take down the Warriors?

No, this isn't an overreaction thread, just a question based off the way the season has started.

I think they can.

The Cavs have looked like an infinitely better team thus far. KD is a big piece to add though and they shifted a lot of pieces around so it's impossible to tell how it will be with both teams in their groove.

You hold the NBA Finals today, and Cavs win easy.

If the W's dont do anything about the bigs situation, Cavs are guaranteed to have an extra 5+ possessions a game just on OREB differential. Thats not easy to overcome. Same thing with the Spurs.

And 5 is being generous to the W's

You won't need to take down the Warriors, they're cactus

Erm, I don't feel like I'm overreacting... But the Warriors really ruined everything that was good about those 73 wins. I think just Tristan Thompson alone, if they make it past the Spurs... Will be a pain in the ass. But the Spurs have Pau, Aldridge, and Kawhi... That is a lot of size. A lot more size than the Warriors could handle imo.

Remember when Lebron joined Miami, how horrible they were at first?

There's always an adjustment period. It's not like KD isn't fitting in, he's super efficient and has been crashing the boards. The main thing is their defense, it's not there yet.

Keep in mind they lost: Barnes, Speights, Barbosa, Bogut, and Ezeli

There will be a learning period for KD and Zaza

honestly i still have warriors by end of year. The Cavs defense isn't that great and that's a big problem vs all those stars the Warriors have.

... and the Warriors' defense isn't a problem?

They showed no ability to slow down Kyrie and LeBron before this season. Now they've lost all of their interior defense with Bogut and Ezeli gone. When you're getting wrecked by TJ Warren and Eric Bledsoe, what do you think those guys are going to do?

No doubt, the Warriors will be better as the season goes on, but relying on Zaza and Varejao as your last line of defense? Trouble against the best attackers in the league.

No Bogut is huge. Last year in the Finals LeBron turned from LeBron to MJ after Bogut went down with the injury. Cavaliers are the favorites as of now.

The 2017 postseason will be the greatest of LeBron's career. It will become the pinnacle of his legacy.

Are the Lakers threads boring these days or do you just enjoy trolling?

gsw's reign is over. they are worse than last year, which isn't saying much since they had the best reg season record of all time, but you can just tell from their ball movement and defense. cavs could sweep them as is.

Lol. GS would get at least one in Oracle, current form considered.

not counting out GSW with that ridiculous shooting lineup.

Would not suprise me if they won with a 5'3 center if Klay + curry+ kd had a decent shooting night. All 3 easily can put up 40pt on like 15 shots any day of the week.

Excellent post, although a healthy Iguadala has shown the ability to reduce Lebron's effectiveness.

And don't forget the great moving picks that Bogut provided, as well.

And yes, the Warriors will improve as the season goes on. Just too much offensive firepower. But their interior defense will be their weakness all year long. Dray can't play the center position for 36+ minutes on a nightly basis.

it won't be as good as last year but having draymond and good perimeter defenders will keep them decent on defense.

No improvement will prevent Golden State from being destroyed in rebounding and nothing will transform Pachulia in Bogut (IQ, Rebounds, rim protection, illegal screens, etc.)

Do people realise that Bogut was only on the floor for 12mpg last finals? There's a limit to how much impact you can have on the game playing only a quarter of basketball. Golden State will be fine.

Way too early, but personally I think the Spurs based on matchups pose more of an issue than the Warriors do. I'm still waiting to see both Curry and Durant's regular season dominance translate to the more physical playoff environment.

12 minutes is a huge portion of the game. Replace Ezeli and Varejao with Bogut for those 12 minutes and Golden State wins the championship.

How does it make you feel that this nikka destroyed Curry in the finals
