Gotta give credit to the Indians... half their team was injured or suspended for this series and still almost won

Time for LeBron to start playing real basketball vs. the Celtics. He's gonna be more angry and aggressive.

The Indians winning the World Series was just money in the bank honestly to me. I could've really cared less if they won it or not becuase I didn't expect them there in the first place with their #2 and #3 starter injury for the post-season. The Cubs were favored to win the World Series since before the season even started and they almost blew it. Congrats to Cubs fans it's once in a lifetime...or two lifetimes I guess honestly. Cavs beating Warriors was more epic of a collapse to me since in the MLB losing 3-1 leads is more common, in the NBA it had never happened...ever in the Finals.

Did the dubs blowing a 3-1 really take that much of a toll on you?

And at the end of the day Inferno,
-Cavs won the chip
-Indians were in the World Series
and
-Warriors lost in the finals
-Giants lost in the ALDS
I don't live in Cleveland, I live in a nice suburb in central Ohio but it's hilarious how people try to talk shit about the city when they're getting smacked by them

The Indians put in work this season, overachieving massively. Cheers to Francona for putting the Indians on the map. The man is a God. Long live the bullpen.

We need to give the Cubs some credit here..
Chicago came back from being down 3-1 WITHOUT their best player lobbying to the league to suspend Cleveland's best player.
Stuff of legends.

Cubs best power hitter tore his ACL as the season just started and was gone the entire year. Significant part of their offense.

Best part about this picture is that is was taken AT AN INDIANS GAME.
I love LeBron's game but can't stand him off the court.

Sounds like the 2015 Finals.
There was actually quite a bit in common. Not only were the Indians' Nos. 2 & 3 starters hurt, but their #4 guy (Trevor Bauer) injured his finger playing with his drone before the ALCS and was a shell of himself afterwards. On top of all that, our best offensive player -- Michael Brantley -- was also injured all year and never played in the postseason.
If you tally up all of the injuries the Indians were dealt, it probably would equal up to being without Kyrie and Love for the Cavs.
And, it had a huge impact on the World Series. Because the rotation was so short, it meant having to throw Kluber three times in the World Series, twice on just 3 days rest. The Cubs didn't have a single pitcher with that kind of workload. And, when a team sees a guy three times in a series, they start to pickup on things and naturally will do better the third time than the first and second time because of it.
True to form, Kluber was basically unhittable in his first two starts and then just average in his third.
The Indians needed to win that series early and they almost did. The longer it went, the more likely it was that the healthier and more talented Cubs would start to take over ... just like the 2015 NBA Finals with the Cavs and Warriors. The Cavs basically had to sweep the Warriors to have any chance since they were playing with a 6-man rotation and Delly was getting 40 minutes a night when he was accustomed to getting 15-20 minutes.
There is absolutely no comparison between the Indians losing a 3-1 lead to a better, healthier Cubs team and what the Cavs achieved by coming back on a 73-win Warriors team this past season. The Cubs were huge favorites (2-1 in Vegas) coming into that series and no one ever thought the Indians would be up 3-1 in the first place.
It was an incredible series, but the Cubs did finally prove they were the better team. I don't really see the 3-1 thing as a big deal in this situation. It is more common in baseball and, if it were ever going to happen in the World Series (it had happened 6 times before), this was the year everything was set up perfectly for it.

He still says his he's a Yankees fan, but there's nothing wrong with him going to the game, cheering for the Indians for that city and the fans. He wants that city to do well.

I don't and never have lived in Cleveland nor around it. I lived in Cincinnati until I was 19 and moved to Wisconsin where I still live 12 years later. I still love you though boo-boo. You'll grow some maturity someday. You tell me to stop crying, but that's all you've done since July is cry about the Finals on here posting the same exact shit over and over and over and over.
