Qs Quote:
A potential preview of the Western Conference Finals this early in the year is sure to bring some excitement. The Spurs have started out a solid 5-1 playing without Tim Duncan, a franchise staple, for the first time in forever, while the Clippers are 4-1 due to scrappy defense themselves. Both teams are on the second night of a back-to-back as the Clips fly in from Memphis and San Antonio is coming from Salt Lake City. How well Prince Luc can stick on Kawhi may very well decide if the Clippers have any chance her.e

Clippers are on back to backs and playing away, but this should be a good one.

These two had one of the best playoff series in recent time.

39-16 run after going down 8-0.

Best our offense has played, our defense continues to be elite. Rotating and communicating well. Need to work a bit more on boxing out though.

Offensively, finally we've got movement instead of iso-ball. JJ hitting his first three was a great sign since he's like 2-48 or something on the year to start.

Our bench has been good so far on the young year, they really need to keep it going and need to keep an eye on Manu defensively. Austin/Wes need to stick im.

This has just been an absolute clinic by the Clippers starters. Defense has been suffocating. Great rotation and communication. Still not boxing out like I'd want them too being -5 on the glass.

Offensively, the iso ball has stopped and the motion is spectacular.

Man, was hoping for a close game, but I'll take it. Our defense has been spectacular all year, off the top of my head, don't think we've given up 100 yet.

Even in the OKC loss, we were smothering them, just couldn't get any sort of offense.

It may be early in the year but this will go a long way near seasons end if tie-breakers end up coming into play, which they very well might.

Parker's still the only guy on the team that can get assists (still leading the team in incredibly low usage). Kawhi & LMA are ISO players...Parker is the engine that keeps the team moving...still. I mean, it was Kawhi's first post-season as a Superstar, for that, he concinved alright.. he had a putrid final three games, but my god, through 4 games, he was like 25/10 on 60% shooting 50+% from 3 while wreaking defensive havoc... and the series was tied 2-2 :confusedshrug:

So I dont think Kawhi individually underachieved much. However, outside of him and Duncan, most others were pretty bad.

Is it always "LET" them win though?

I dunno.. I agree the Spurs could have achieved more in the playoffs, and probably get hyped a bit too much, because their post-season exit feels inevitable at times... I got so pissed off at like 80% of the YouTube community (fans from everywhere) like "Spurs are the best team, by far", "Spurs will win the title", all that stuff, and you just know later they're all quiet when they lose again... Pop is probably a bit overrated in his playoff coaching. And of course Leonard was quite bad.
