This ignorant nonsense. No one who watched any nba last season could deny that he was overwhelmingly worthy of the mvp. I have never seen anyone shoot remotely close to how well he did last season. Even if we grant that the rest of his game is ass, which isn't actually the case but let's go with it for the sake of arguement, his shooting alone makes him undisputed top 5 last season.

indeed, my worry is that the reason we'll see him go backwards with durant is now, with the most efficient scorer in the league beside him, he can no longer justify ignoring his teammates and try to make insane shots from 30 feet out, even though he actuall converts them at an extremely good percentage.

as to the argument, the reason people say curry is over-rated is his shooting was so good last year that it defies logical sense, people have to humanise what he was doing. normally when you have the best at something the second best is only an infentesimal amount behind, but curry's shooting last year is incomparable and if he was the benchmark then the most you could say about anyfrom from klay to allen to bird is that they were just quite good.

It's because the team and the players allow Curry to shoot those ridiculous off the dribble 3s and heat checks, etc, and no one cares, and there are no ego issues.

On any other team, odds are that would create tension. Even if everyone were to recognize that it's motherf***ing Steph Curry, that doesn't mean they would not be upset that he's taking such "ridiculous" shots. And along those same lines, Steph would recognize that and take less "ridiculous" shots, because he cares about his teammates.

It actually was a really good time for the thread, considering that Curry's 3p shooting is a huge part of the reason that he is so overrated. Very ironic timing.

Nobody who wins 2 MVPs in a row with their team almost winning 2 championships in a row is overrated, on a team that set the regular season win record, unless it's overrating them versus the all-time greats.

It doesn't matter that Curry's impact is largely based on three point shooting. That's like saying Shaq was overrated because he was so devastating dunking the ball. What matters is the impact on the game, and Curry has been the most impactful player the last two seasons, overall.
