Patty Mills could have the stats for it the less minutes TP has.
Lou Williams is a contender for it if the Lakers have 45+ wins.
My personal pick is Zach Randolph.
14/8 so far off the bench.
I think he could finish with 17/8 or so, and on a winning team that should net him 6th man. Plus he seems like he really wants it.

Can someone explain to me why the individual awards depend on the teams results?

Because humans are flawed beings. And we have a mayriad of things and circumstances affecting our thought process.
There's also the term 'Empty stats'. On any NBA team, someone is going to put up points, maybe on even good efficency. And on a good team, great players might not get the same stats. (Kevin Love, Klay Thompson, James Harden) that they would put on lesser teams, or teams in which they have a bigger role. (James Harden#)
So, you think to yourself,
This guy is putting up 18 points a game, but his team is blowing other teams apart, and he's doing it on only about 14 shots a game. On a bad team, given 20 shots, he'd likely put up more stats. So we should reward winning. Not make players feel that if they want personal accolades (All-star, All NBA, MVP) they have to be me-only players (Wilt).
A player is also his own brand, and business, so by rewarding players who are winning, and not only putting stats, you create a culture of competetive play in the League, where beating the other team is more important than hanging 25 a game on 25 shots. Thus, making a better, more entertaining league.
And that's why it matters if teams are winning when it comes to awards.

Marcus Smart, B. Knight or potentially even Okafor if Philly decides not to shop him.

6th man of the year is not dependent on team record, and whether the Lakers win 45 or not has zero influence on whether or not Lou wins the award.

You do realize almost ALL of the 6MoY winners were on 50+ win teams?

Z-Bo would be my pick, dude is just solid.
Marreese Speights deserves mention, definitely over Crawford as of right now. I'd even say Felton is ahead of Crawford at this point.

Horrible picks, especially Knight. No, actually all of them are equally as bad.
Shame on you.

Hate this award. Most of the guys who win play starter minutes anyway or atleast close to it. Most improved award too.

Marcus Smart is a solid backup 2 way guard, easily could start on many teams. Brandon Knight is a starting caliber guard, but Bledsoe is a borderline all star and Booker is a future all star. Both are going to put up numbers coming off the bench.
