MIP

He seriously looks like a totally different player. His jumper is money. Way less mistakes this year. More under control. Shot + athleticism peaking this year

Beautiful to watch, very very similar to MJ. This version of Derozan is better offensively than Mj tho IMO

you do when you master midrange game.. that always gets better as you go because its skill base and skills can always be honed. just look at the progression of the raptors and demar.. they get a little better every year.

Poor man's Kobe Bryant. That's an MVP caliber player in today's game. good for him

Any player averaging 34ppg and on a 60+ win pace is an MVP candidate... in any era. The point is he is very unlikely to sustain it, hence MVP voting happens after the 82 game season.

He's always been good. He just got really good. They say 27 is the start of the "prime" years historically, maybe he just figured it all out right on time.

He was good before, this isn't Steve Nash at like age 31, he's entering his prime and he's gotten better every year in the league. This is a big jump but maybe it's not as big as we think.

Everything is very slowed down for him right now, he plays at his pace. I don't expect him to average 34 for the season but I think he may be among the league leaders this year scoring wise.

Ignoring the hyperbole here, he is beautiful to watch. I think the comparison to make here (surprised no one has already) is Kobe after Shaq left. Physically gifted but not dominant; money from midrange; every offensive position you can see him plotting out how he's going to score this time. Looks veeeery comfortable taking the shot every possession if the defense lets him. Very reminiscent of Kobe.

We will see how he reacts to a cold streak. Everyone has them. Will he go 4-17 a bunch of times, or what? Will he shoot his team out of games or focus his attention on other things?

The problem with Kobe--great player tho he was--was that he was downright uncomfortable with NOT being the one to take the shot every time if the defense allowed it. If Demar also takes on that attitude, it would be a pity. Demar isn't talented at passing or defense like Kobe was, and I'm not sure what he looks like if he's not scoring. We'll see.

Cavaliers needs to play some playoffs defense against him when they play the Raptors.
