Boy how was I wrong. This is probably the best Lakers ball in several years. The guys are sharing the ball, playing unselfish and having fun.

It's incredible what happens when an offensive black hole retires.

They already sucked and one of the main reasons was Kobe...so your title doesn't make any sense. Whether you're a kobe stan or not...nobody can make a case that Kobe did anything to help make the team better last season. He chucked up horrible shots whenever he pleased, which made it impossible for anyone else get into any kind of rhythm, while simultaneously playing some of the worst defense in the league. Either way, the Lakers still suck and aren't winning more than 35 games.

anybody with enough sense could foresee the Lakers would be better without Kobe.

Did you guys forget that the Lakers sucked in 2015 without Kobe most of the year and still sucked so bad? Byron Scott was more of a cancer to the team than Kobe was.

Kobe stans are wrong 95% of the time

Other sensible people knew what was the better brand od basketball, including the guys on the lakers coaching staff and in their locker room. Just Kobe refused to buy in.

lakers have always played better without kobe, even during his prime years. he's not a special player or anything.

That's because the team was awful. The best way to compare is how his teammates play when he's there full time and then misses a few games. Often times it seemed like the Lakers players got an extra boost, a new freedom. Where before they had to endure someone who would never pass the ball to them no matter what, to the point that it took them out of the game on defense, now they had more shots, and more defensive energy, and the Lakers seemed to win more, play better.
