He's got good flow sometimes in the P&R where he can pull up from mid-range and hit that but his lack of athleticism just limits everything he does. There is no dynamic element to his game.

This is exactly why our starting unit isn't that good. You add him, Deng and Mosgov and you have a unit that can seldom run and get easy buckets in transition. Watch when the 2nd unit comes in with their athleticism/energy and the game changes. Easy buckets are more normal. Gets getting to balls are more normal. They make things happen. When you lack athleticism, it's harder to impose your will on the game.

You just can't be a PG at this level and have amazing slow feet AND slow twitched muscles. That's a big hill to climb. When he's hitting his shots, he can carry an offense for stretches. But when it's not falling, he's a liability most of the time. It's just that simple.

Druss is the best at running the offense and one of the most gifted passers in the NBA.

He is NOT one of the best passers in the NBA. That is hogwash. We have enough of a sample size to know that his most dangerous aspect of his game is his offense, not his passing. When his shot is on, he can do damage for stretches whether from 3, mid-range jumpers off the P&R and the occasional foray to the basket off the P&R.

His vision is good and he can see things but he can seldom exploit these openings because he lacks quick reflexes to exploit them. He's almost always a split second slow to react. He sees the openings but his body can't react quickly enough. These holes used to almost always be open in college, not anymore.

Another thing you notice with him is he regularly loses the ball when a defender is up on him because of his terrible reflexes. His body simply can't keep up with his body.

I think you're trying to make him somebody that he's not. We already knew that's he does not have the physical attributes to make him like a Derrick Rose. What we know is he has a great feel for the game. This is reason why Lakers signed Mozgov and overpaid him a bit because they envision DRuss as a PG who can thrive in a pick and roll. But I agree right now, he does not have a lot of impact. I think he need to work more on his midrange instead of keep settling for 3s especially when he's struggling. And he need a better shooter than Deng to spread the floor better.
