Has Harden ever been able to beat OKC? Other than 2012 Finals
Has Harden ever been able to beat OKC? Other than 2012 Finals
He's 7-8 against OKC, dating back to 2012. Most of those, OKC have been better than HOU.
He's also dropped at least 24 in 10 of the 15 games. At least 30 in 7 of those 15. At least 40 in three of those games.
Pretty sure SAS and GSW are Houston's (and Harden's) Achilles heel.
Westbrook is just really, really good. He may be the most athletic player in the league.

Come on playing 39 MPG against OKC in RS. He had the opportunity to to beat them properly in the PO after he had his lackey take out Westbrook but he got murked by Durant and co.

Like I said in another thread, Bricklayer will have his good moments, a lot of them for sure but in the end a team will NEVER WIN A TITLE WITH HIM AS THE FIRST OPTION!!! Mark those words down and frame them if you want. He will be the Bernard King/Dominique Wilkins of this generation. The Oscar Robertson comparisons are nice but remember he was a career LOOSER until he became a 19ppg 8assts PG in 1971 instead of putting up 30ppg 11assts.
So I ask OKC fans, what's your hope with Russ? You already saw the difficulty he had co-existing with Durant and looking how the top teams are building their squads (At least 2/3 all stars) what type of all-star caliber players if any are adequate to build a championship winning team around him? Or are you guys content just watching him put up great stats for 3 more years while getting bounced out of the playoffs in the first round?
The reason I ask is because I had a discussion with a Thunder fan the other day and he was comparing the current Russ situation to Kobe's after Shaq left LA from 2005 to 2007 and he just put up crazy numbers.
The GLARING difference between both situations is that Russ ALREADY got to play with another top 5 player and didn't win jack while Kobe although kicking and screaming all the way still was able to tone it down and blend his talents with Shaq for 3 titles! So there was knowledge and hope in those 3 years from 2005 and 2007 that if the Lakers ever got another top player Kobe could get us to the promised land again.
Do the OKC fans after the Durant/Russ era still have a believe that he can blend his talents with another star for the ultimate price?
I would really like OKC fans to answer.
