"[H]is passion for the game of basketball, you don't teach that. You're born with that," Jordan said.

loyalty in sports are between fans and teams, not players and teams
players (or mgmt) sticking with teams throughout their career are luck based - depends on other player signings, coach, cohesiveness, etc. if these aren't there, there is no loyalty from a player.

If he was gonna bolt, he had every reason to do so this past season.

I'm pretty sure basketball is not a natural instinct that people are born with. Otherwise, it would have been around way sooner.
mj can't comment on loyalty. sure the fakkit started off with garbage teams but he was eventually given a team that anyone would be loyal to.
loyalty in sports is overrated

If it's so lucked based then why do the top players all time have careers on the same team from draft to under 40 years old?
Bird
Magic
Kobe
MJ
Duncan
The "no loyalty" stems from the mindset of a weaker minded generation.

Magic was the first overall pick.
Kobe, you have a point.
But like the guy you're scolding, you're also spreading false information my friend.

Know your history, Magic wanted to be drafted by the Lakers to play with Kareem.

That's great.
But that's not 'Forced', is it now?
Kobe actually told teams he won't play for them.
That's forced.

He himself said that the only reason he declared for the draft was to play with Kareem and for the Lakers. He also wanted to play for the Lakers only for three years and then go play for the Pistons, but that never happened, did it?

So did Magic, he said if he didn't get to play with Kareem & the Lakers he would've gone back to school

LOL at putting Kobe up there.
Also, the cause is the reason. These guys are recognized as the greatest precisely in part because they had great teams (which allowed them to get rings and be placed on people's GOAT lists).
You also left out Shaq, Kareem, Wilt, Lebron, and Hakeem. All of who played for multiple teams. So, you're claim isn't even correct.

The player that deserves the most credit for staying with one team in his prime is Hakeem. Dude didn't even have an elite teammate for nearly a decade between Sampson & Drexler.
It really doesn't take much loyalty for the likes of Russell, Magic, Bird, Duncan, Kobe etc. to stay when they were drafted on a contender immediately with top tier players/coaches and were winning multiple championships instantly. Why would they leave those situations?
