Lebron out there trying to be a poor man's mimic of MJ's greatness by molding Kevin Love into greatness the way MJ molded Pippen into greatness. All Kevin needs is 5 more rings and we can say Lebron is as good of a molder as MJ was.

Love in 2014, before Lebron:N26.1 ppg.. 12.5 rpg.. 45.7%.. 2nd Team All-NBA.. Superstar

Love 2015-2017, with Lebron:.16.5 ppg.. 7.9 rpg... 42.6%.. 9 ppg Finals performer.. Role Player

Imagine if Love could average his maximum stats (26/13) alongside Lebron - the Cavs would be a FAR better team - they would 3-peat for sure, probably 6-peat.

However, this is impossible because must Lebron must dominate the ball to get his stats, which turns superstars like Love into play-finishing role players and causes his TEAMS to rank outside the top 5 or 10 in assists every year.

Unfortunately, Lebron's off-ball game ranks in the bottom half of the league, so his teammates are incapable of achieving their maximum stats alongside him.. If Lebron had a better off-ball game, teammates could achieve more assists by passing him the ball, which promotes superior teamwork and brand of basketball.. Teammates would also have more time with the ball instead of just waiting for Lebron to toss them a dime - waiting on Lebron's ball dominance is an unsophisticated brand of basketball that usually can't succeed at the highest level of competition (3/7).

1) it's only 8-9 games into the season

2) Lebron has reduced his scoring to accommodate Love - however, if he was able to achieve his stats OFF-ball then he wouldn't have to reduce anything and neither would Love, which means his team would produce more overall, while also having better teamwork

Now I have a question - why (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12606535&postcount=10) are Lebron's teams consistently out of the top 5 or 10 or even 15 in assists every year?

Oh and another question - how could you ever expect Lebron to match the championship frequency or Finals record of the goat, if his ball-dominance creates less team assists and therefore a weaker, less sophisticated brand of basketball that usually can't succeed at the highest level (3/7)?

Love in 2014, before Lebron:N26.1 ppg.. 12.5 rpg.. 45.7%.. 2nd Team All-NBA.. Superstar
Avg. 36.3MP and 18.5FGA. Plus he avg. the most 3PA of his career that year.

Love 2015-2017, with Lebron:.16.5 ppg.. 7.9 rpg... 42.6%.. 9 ppg Finals performer.. Role Player
2015 - Avg. 33.8MP - 12.7FGA
2016 - Avg. 31.5MP - 12.7FGA

MP and FGA going down has nothing to do with his scoring and rebounding going down?

So you think he should take more 3PA like he was in 2014?

His 2-4 less minutes per game doesn't account for his 10 ppg dropoff.

And his far lower time of possession alongside Lebron accounts for his lower FG attempts - in Minnesota, he got to hold the ball a lot and create offense.. But in Cleveland, he must watch Lebron's ball-dominance and PG-level time of possession.

Again, if Lebron was an off-ball player and achieved his stats off-ball, then Love's FG attempts wouldn't have to decline, just like Pippen's didn't alongside Jordan.

I think he should get to hold the ball and create offense more, just like he did in Minnesota - then he would be playing to maximum capacity, just like he would alongside a superstar that achieved his stats OFF-ball

This dude actually thinks a player can go from averaging 26/13 as first option on a lottery team to third option on a championship team and have no drop off in production :oldlol:

He really doesn't understand basketball at all. He actually thinks MJ on this team would average 30+ with Love averaging Minny numbers and Irving averaging ~25 a game. I still can't figure out where the extra possessions are coming from.

No, but going from being the #1 option on offense to the #3 option and a plethora of injuries do contribute to it.

Who would run the offense? There's isn't a single player on the Cavs who's even close to being as good as LeBron at running an offense.

 @ the Cavs 3peating with Love 26/13. How many times did he make the PO's in Minny averaging 26/13?
