This combo is still one of the most fascinating "what if?" questions in basketball. Tmac should never have left.

What if TMac was a good enough player and leader to actually get out the damn first round in his career?

There's no "what if" for Tmac. He's a glorified regular season all star who wasnt worth a shit when it mattered the most

Are you describing Chris Paul? What if Chris Paul was good enough to make a WCF?

Kind of false. He always played better in the postseason.

He had short comings but labeling him just a regular season all star is stupid. He had a superstar game regardless of who he played but just lacked the killer instinct.

As for the OP, I don't think tmac would have blossomed if he had stayed. Dude needed his own team to be in control of.

Nobody is stupid enough to believe that Tmac simply wasnt a "good enough player" to win a playoff series. Thats the worst kind of "It never happened so it couldnt possibly happen" idiotic sports fan logic there is.

Tmac was better than any number of people who led teams to the finals. Basketball is not nearly so simple as some want to make it out.

Like Chauncey Billups leadership is gonna make the 04 Magic the 04 Pistons....

Better players than Tmac have failed to do anything with better teams than he had even in Houston.

Webber and Shaq.

Committed Sampson and Hakeem.

But bro. Nothing for me beats Durant, Westbrook, Harden.

They had only just scratched the surface

they sound better on paper than they were together.. there's only one ball .. and they all love to dribble it.

you're talking like these guys would all be able to drop 30 point triple doubles together like they are right now as separate full time cogs / one man armies.. which is silly.

I never said anything about stats

They were 23, 23, 22. Since they've all clearly gotten better since then, the statement remains.

Take Goatbrook out for any average PG and they would have lost to the Grizzlies in the 1st round every year
Fixed for you since you don't have a brain, you're welcome

Raptors woulda won a championship by now if T-Mac weren't so selfish, money hungry and ego driven.

Former Raptors coach Darryl Walker really felt this way about T-Mac at one point of his NBA coaching career.:oldlol: :facepalm

He was starting towards the end of the regular season and play-offs though in that last season T-Mac and Air Canada played together.

Take a look at his supporting casts. It's shocking what he was working with in Orlando. And he almost took out the #1 seed with that.

Anthony Davis is doing something similar in New Orleans--at least, with Jrue out. But stars almost always have decent casts these days; if they don't win it's due to coaching, lack of chemistry, etc. (See: Sacramento Kings, which have way more talent around Cousins than Tmac had, but Tmac's guys worked together better)

wouldn't have worked....too ball dominant.....vc aint that time didn't know how to pass the ball...wasn't because he was a selfish player he just wasn't a facilitator at all.......like it just wasn't in his game.....tmac while he could facilitate.....his main strength was scoring....sooooo while they would have been fun to watch.....they would have been like the clippers around that same time with odom, richarson and miles.....entertaining.......but would not have worked to win rings

This is flat out bullshit. He did the most on the majority of his play-off teams. His teammates just never stepped up.

stop bruh...mike miller was far from a scrub...in fact I believe he won rookie of the year.....mike was a stud earlier in his career and was actually a more than competent 2nd option for the magic AND the grizzlies

He won rookie of the year in one of the shittiest draft classes in NBA history. Miller wasn't a scrub at the time, but he was also far from a superstar caliber player. :oldlol:
