There's some decent free-to-play games on psn. I downloaded Hawken, a mulitplayer mech game, not bad at all. It's no Titanfall, but it was good. I also downloaded Warframe, this game has improved from when it was first made available a few years ago. This is more of a 3rd person space ninja with guns game. Most modes are co-op, but there is some player vs player.

I used to grind on Destiny real bad. But, it required Godly amount of time and grinding every day to keep up. Not to mention DLC.
