Man among boys out there
In all of his highlights, I haven't seen him shoot one jump shot.
But the dude is a beast athletically.

That's an odd comparison considering they don't play anything alike
Its over... y'all just move on somewhere...
Calipari offers scholarship to high school basketball sensation Zion Williamson
Five-star basketball recruit Zion Williamson has earned a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
UK Coach John Calipari extended the offer during a visit with Williamson on Tuesday.
Zion Williamson averaged 36.8 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.5 blocked shots per game this season.

The 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward from Spartanburg, S.C. has become a YouTube sensation this season with his ridiculous dunks and powerful style of play. His highlights have been featured prominently on ESPN SportsCenter, and celebrity-rapper-turned-UK-fan Drake has been photographed wearing his high school jersey.
247Sports ranks Williamson as the No. 1 overall prospect in the recruiting class of 2018. Rivals.com, Scout.com and ESPN all rank him as the No. 2 prospect in the class, behind only Marvin Bagley, another major UK recruiting target.
Earned... You have to EARN an offer from UK.

How would you know?? Zion is still in high school. He is dominating offpyre athleticism now. I see a "harrison barnes" ceiling

Probably be more like Blake Griffin.
Huge, athletic, good ball handling skills, zero jumpshot.

again idiot.....its not about playing like Harrison barnes......Harrison barnes was one of the best recruits in his hs class if not the best...got to north Carolina and had a lackluster career.....in the pros....he isn't a household name,,,a decent starter....nun more nun less....again....a HARRISON BARNES ceiling.

I'm not comparing skillset per say but more of trajectory.....barnes was a very hyped hs player....most ranking had him as the best hs player in the nation...got to north Carolina and he was so so....in the pros he is a decent starter...not a allstar, not a superstar, a solid starter.
blake griffin is IMO an allstar player.

Well I see a James Worthy ceiling. Except once again, no.
You don't place ceilings on people that don't play the same way. So, he also has a Greg Monroe ceiling? An Andrew Bynum ceiling?
Stop trying to cover up your stupidity. Accept that you made a mistake and move on.

Obviously an athletic freak.
But go watch Justice Winslow in highschool as a junior, was doing freakish things.
Need to see overall game against good competition. Also position may depend on his further height increase.

Seriously, wtf? Zion's entire team are like at least 1 foot taller than the other team
Lebron's highlights were the same when he was in High School.
Lol. LBJ is one of the highest IQ players in the league. Athleticism isn't everything.
I'm not buying the HS highlight hype. Kid hasn't shown much of a jumper or handles vs legitimate talent. He really doesnt stand out when he plays against his top ranked peers. He's getting by off of pure athleticism and size for now vs kids who look like insidehoops posters. I need to see him in college to better assess how he will translate to the NBA. He'll make it no question just unsure how good he will be. If he can somehow become Larry Johnson the undersized PF then that could work in his favor.

Great athlete but I need to see him in a full game. The form on his jumper looks pretty bad which doesn't bode well. I think he'll clearly make an impact due to physical gifts but he could be limited in a league that values shooting so much.

The first thing he needs to do is hire a conditioning coach.

Kinda seems like a shorter Julius Randle from what I saw vs. the big ballers

Exactly my thoughts, man amongst boys. If you watch Wiggins vs randle from a few years ago the similarities are uncanny

a year ago his highlights were great after the injury i think randle is better based on the fact that Randle can handle the ball much better . as for Zion he is all hype for now i've seen him against other top power forwards hell even a small forward was able to take the ball away from him . so Gobb is right if he turns out to be Larry johnson part 2 then good for him...

I love watching this kid play but have not seen him get tested on the defensive end.
Athleticism will only get you so far in today's NBA.

Do you guys know that....Zion was built by the machines to ensure that
the freed humans would all gather in one place, and The One was created
to be their religious figure, helping to distract them from renewed war
with the machines. Both forms of control.

Zion is listed as a 6’7″ 230 lbs. small forward by all of the major recruiting services, but in Colorado Springs, measured in at 6’5″ (barefoot), 272 lbs. Whoa. May I remind you this is basketball, not football? As ESPN’s Jonathan Givony notes, Zion’s carrying a lot of extra weight, but amazingly, it hasn’t affected his game too much. Givony said that Zion’s speed, power, and motor were impressive for someone who appears out of shape.
6'5 barefoot and 272 pounds

at 6-5 barefoot he's an NBA 6-6.5
FYI MJ and Kobe were 6-4.75 barefoot
I wonder what his standing reach/wingspan is
And obvious, I wonder how explosive and mobile he would be at 240-250. Could be legendary.

He might be able to get away with being that heavy in college because he has incredible athleticism....but there's no way it'll work in the NBA. Charles was taller and obviously was a whale his first couple years in the NBA but he eventually slimmed down to like 250.
He would essentially need to be Barkley for this to work...and expecting someone to be Barkley is ludicrous.
Christ, I don't know what to think of him as a prospect. He will dominate college no doubt but that weight needs to get under control.:biggums: Dude might be pushing 300+ if he has a growth spurt:biggums:

Classic case of kid who develops early and dominates HS
Won't be a monster in the NBA
He plays like a PF in SF body who can't shoot. FOH. His defense will be ass too

Austin Cannon (Damien HS Sophomore) will be better.
So will Shareef.

Freak athlete at the HS level, and will be good in college as well, but unless he grows another couple of inches, he probably won't be a star in the NBA. He doesn't have the skills to play SF, and he's undersized for a PF.
RJ Barrett looks like a much better prospect to me.
That said, he does have one hell of a highlight reel, and I look forward to seeing him in the NBA dunk competition.

Hopefully he can make it in the NBA. Would love to see some more crazy dunkers over solid fundamental players
No handles or jumper this tells me you really know what you are talking about. Watch a video of him.
You clearly are blinded by HS highlights. Shame, go take a look at Julius Randle HS clips. He shot the 3, mid range, handled the ball from one end to the next and scored inside easily. Man amongst boys. Got to college and the nba? The range and his overall jumper was lost. Above average ball handler but his face up game is average at best. But in HS he looked like Jamal Mashburn.
Clearly your reading is a bit off. I didn't say he has no handles. He can handle the ball. I questioned his handles vs legitimate talent. Meaning someone that knows how to defend against him. Can he create his own offense enough? Valid question due to all the hype. So yeah "watch a video of him" in HS. A lot of kids beast in HS. Your logic just isn't sound because Ben Simmons could shoot in HS. Yet if someone question his jumper you'd chime in "watch a video of him".
In conclusion I stopped putting a great deal of stock into HS beasting. It's easier to assess talent at the college level vs HS. Because the talent level and coaching is dramatically better across the board. So things you got away with in HS you arent going to in college and in the pros. Special talents can but again too early for me to see special talent in HS feasting.
