I've listened to his interviews. I don't think he would make a good coach. But what do I know, wish him best of luck. He's the guy who originally put Georgetown on the national map. He's paid his dues, I guess he deserves this shot. He will have to recruit, as that is the most important part of college ball.

He certainly puts the HEAD back in head coach.

Definite candidate for the all-ugly HOF team.

This is great news and will help the civil rights movement further progress.

What about rights for ugly people? Shouldn't they be treated the same way? Allowed to go the beach and what not?

He won't last.

Doesn't have head coach gravitas, regardless of his playing career.

This will appease the alums and donors for a couple years but he won't get it done

They're just tryna make sure Big John isn't upset about the whole ordeal. Any other hire but Ewing probably would've gotten disapproval from him so it makes sense.

I don't really think he lasts though.

My guess is that John Thompson has no say and nor do they care if John approves who they hire.

No offense but you're wrong.

The Thompson family is very involved in the program as they pretty much put the program on the map. Big John has always made strings move behind the scenes, they're worried if they hired anyone else, Big John would be in the background making things hard for that person. They hired Ewing in part that he'd get Coach Thomps approval.

He's tryin to get an NBa job, last I heard. This move surprised me, but I'm happy for him.

I think it'll be OK.

If he can develop bigs, that would be cool, too. Recruit + develop bigs.

If Big John was worried about what Georgetown Mens BB wants....success.... then Georgetown wouldn't have hired Ewing.

He has no idea how to recruit, has been removed from the college game (player only) for over 30yrs and has never had this much weight put on his shoulders when it comes to coaching.

Unfortunately, it's going to end up ugly and my guess is that Pat is gone in 3yrs or less.

I hope I'm wrong though cause I respect Ewing
