Statement from #Mizzou:

Michael Porter, Jr. will undergo surgery on Tuesday, Nov. 21, in Dallas, Texas. The procedure, a microdiscectomy of the L3-L4 spinal discs, has a projected recovery time of three-four months and will likely cause him to miss the remainder of the season.

Bye bye to that #1 overall.

Damn, that sucks. I can't wait until Philly drafts him and he doesn't play his rookie year until he's 25.

Damn

Hope a team still takes a bite at him and we can draft Ayton or Bamba

If he is 100% recovered, he should try to play a year of college ball next season. I think that will go a long way to prove that he is still a top player. Teams would have to hesitate to draft him without seeing him play for over a year.

Sucks because I really wanted to see his game vs better competition.

That is what crossed my mind. :oldlol:

Wasn't even going to go #1 over Bagley anyway. Now there is no chance.

This really sucks, was looking forward to seeing him play.

As for his draft stock, noone is going to use the #1 pick on a player coming off major back surgery, especially when that player has zero college experience. But he'll have major upside as a ~4th pick for a team willing to take a chance.

76ers will find a way to draft him

I'd go back to school. If he ends up getting picked out of the Top 10 then he's losing millions.

God, I hope so.

He is playing today against Georgia. Should be interesting to see how many minutes he gets.

I wonder where his draft stock will be at in a month.
