Biggest question mark is how Steph is gonna be back. I'm hoping better than 2016, since it was still better than everyone not named Lebron and with KD, that's a wrap. Hoping KD leads to 2-0 win, and Steph comes to close out the tough away matches.

Davis is going to be forcibly be brought down to Earth. Sorry babyboi, it's not your time yet.

I cant call it. Jrue holiday is going to see a lot of Klay thompson.

Rondo will be schemed against by putting a bigger defender on him. Essentially you will see iggy defending his passing lanes. The key to guarding rondo is leaving rangy defenders on him.

If Nikola can make them pay..you will see very competitive series going 6 7. Ultimately golden state has shooters and a scheme that can limit rondo.

Rooting for the Pelicans, but I can't see the Warriors being stopped.

Is Curry coming back any point this series? Or is he out for a while longer?

If AD, Rondo, Jrue, and Mirotic continue to play well, this series could very well go to 6-7 games IF Curry misses 2 games.

I got the Warriors winning in 6.

The Pelicans can win only if the Unibrow and Holiday continue to play great, and they slow down the Warriors' high powered offense. Davis averaged 33 ppg and 12 rpg, as well as 2.8 blocks per game, and Holiday stepped up big with 27.8 ppg and 6.5 apg while shooting .568 FG. Rondo also chipped in with 11.3 ppg and 13.3 apg and 7.5 rpg. Playoff Rondo frees up Holiday to focus on scoring off the ball and defend the most dangerous perimeter player.

However. the Warriors should win because they have more defensive answers than the Blazers did in the first round, and their offense is far more multidimensional as well. Iguodala replaced Curry in the lineup, and while his numbers aren't much to sniff at, he remains the perfect glue guy. Durant dropped 28.2 ppg and 8.6 rpg and 5.2 apg at .480 FG and .946 FT. Thompson was no slouch with 22.6 ppg at .529 FG with scorching hot .512 3FG. Green almost averaged a trip dub with 11.4 ppg, 11.2 rpg, and 8.0 apg.

While the Warriors' offense will remain potent without Curry, the true key to this matchup is the Warriors' defense. Unibrow will score no matter the defense, but he won't be able to maintain his usual numbers at the same efficiency. Also, Curry is coming back soon.

Warriors in 6.

Golden State is very beatable this year. Don't think New Orleans will do it, but I don't think they're hungry enough or healthy enough to dominate like they did in years past

Mods, OP, anyone who can fix this, Pels are the #6 seed, not #7.

Anyway, I say GSW in...5. I'm surprised how many ppl think Pels have a chance, even vs a Curry-less Dubs team. Even w/o Curry, GSW looks to be on another steamrolling destruction of the league in the playoffs.

Lol this... Blazers were lucky as hell to be in the playoffs. They had that hot win streak during a weak-infested schedule of non-caliber playoff teams.

As a matter of fact, the Blazers are the weakest team in this year's playoffs (and this includes teams who aren't even at full strength) with the most mentally weak emotional players.

Jrue is healthy physically and mentally for the first time in like 4 years. He shouldn't worry to much about guarding someone that doesn't dribble. Just don't let him get open.

I figured you were trolling, but I decided to bite

Anyway, no. Klay > Jrue. Jrue is playing amazing, no doubt. But he isn't a 30pts-in-a-qtr-potential type of player. You cant just use ppg as the only measuring tape. Klay defends better and is hot from 3. Not trying to discredit Jrue, but Klay is Klay, cmon.

Obviously Rondo is better than Liv. But Cook is playing really well, even better than Liv.

Also, you forgot Iggy and Dray. Dray > Mirotic by just a slim margin, I admit, and Iggy = Moore I suppose. Tho Moore has been playing well also.

But I would agree that Clark + Hill + Miller > West + Looney + Young, which kinda makes me thing about the size advantage GSW will have...

But I don't really care about >'s since it could be like a 10 > 4 situation or a 9 > 8 situation.

One way to exploit GSW is make Durant play D. If his man runs around the court, KD will eventually give up, wanting to conserve energy to shoot later. Then w/ball movement, can throw GSW off. Also if you backscreen him, he also won't go around it.

Watching NFL Network now for some draft analysis. I'm torn on my too-early NFC playoff picks. I got Eagles, Vikes, Pack, and Rams as shoe-ins. Last 2 spots up between Skins, Panthers, Falcons, and 9ers. What do you guys think?

Tempted to actually leave out the Vikes... New OC and new QB maybe don't perform as well as last season's combo? Despite a godly D and the return of Dalvin Cook.

And I like Iggy and Liv, but I don't think they're as vital as they once were. Warriors can survive just fine w/ Cook and a cheaper, younger Iggy replacement.

I've been so confused as to why so many pundits and so-called experts had the Pelicans beating the Warriors in the series. I get hot takes but people were serious. Steph Curry is one of the greatest players of our generation easily, but so is Kevin Durant. For whatever reason some people seem to think that the Warriors can't get it done without Curry when they have one of the best players in the world in Durant as well as a capable core.

I'm not sure if it's because people don't like Durant, they want to downplay how good they are or they're just tired of golden state? But I don't know why you would not give the Champions the benefit of the doubt when you give LeBron and other teams that are far less proven the same benefit to go deep.

What's your point? The Warriors still have 3 current all-stars. A MVP caliber player in Durant, Defensive Player of the Year in Green, and arguably the second best shooter in the NBA behind Curry in Klay Thompson.

What do the Pelicans have? Anthony Davis. That's it.

The Spurs would've had a chance if Leonard was healthy and playing against a Curry-less team, but there was no chance. They should've swept them.

It's just so freaking hard to like GSW.

They basically have a stacked deck, basically they have so much talent that basically it takes an act of god to keep them from what they think is their birthright- another joyless title.

(And yes, I think we can look back and say what happened in June 2016 was an act of god)

They just seem to act as if NBA championships are their birthright and they think they're invincible.

They just come across as annoyingly invincible. Tired of people acting like they're untouchable gods that don't deal with adversity since KD showed up.

Look, it's totally understandable not to like them, I get it. But in terms of them thinking it's their birthright, do you blame them? Think of it this way. If you were in their team, you would 100% believe the same thing. And unlike the CP3 KD stan that keeps making cringe inducing topics to imply Warriors are not favorites :facepalm :facepalm , they have stacked the deck. Anyone on that team should think it's their right, but they also play like it (tough defense). Even if someone isn't a gifted defender for example, everyone on that team runs their asses off on the defensive end.

Except for Swaggy P. He's just a fat, lazy piece of shit. Hope they throw him out of the team immediately one the post season is done. What a bum. In terms of adversity, they had to deal with some this year. Injuries to all 4 players, the one who runs their game is going to miss 35 games or so this year inc playoffs. Unless you just want 1 of Steph or KD to go out of the PS for adversity.

I know this is kind of obnoxious, but I just want the WCF to start already. We need that Rockets Warrior series to see what happens.

Things looking bleak for the Pels, unfortunately. Talent mismatch is there, particularly depth-wise. Even more concerning, though, is the size mismatch. Warriors have length everywhere. Pels don't. And it was definitely a factor in game 1. Pels seemed to be enveloped at times. And there's no one to put on KD. Mirotic isn't the answer. Too stiff, too slow, and the energy expended takes away from his offense. KD was shooting over everyone else like they weren't even there.

Best option (and still not ideal by any means) may be to play Darius Miller over Moore and put him on KD.

The other problem is GS' defense, which was outstanding in game 1. Defense played that well, with that length, is nearly impossible to beat.

Livingston played very well in game 1, and his length was a factor. With Curry set to play game 2, the Pels might catch a bit of a break if he's rusty like he was coming back in 2016. Obviously Curry is worlds better than Livingston, but he's 6'3" instead of 6'7". That'll help the Pels a bit.

You can play as hard as you can, try to do all the right things, but your margin of error is so small that near the end of the game when your focus is wavering things can get out of hand so quickly and before you know it it's over.
