2k19 require PS4 Pro for online play?

One reason I lost a lot of interest in playing 2k18 was I do not have a ps4 pro. And I don't want to purchase a ps4 pro for one game.

Does anyone know if 2k19 will have the same lag issues 2k18 had in mypark, myteam, or pro-am?

aka will I need a PS4 Pro to play online without lag?

most newer games that are Pro compatible have the ability to switch performance between a reg PS4 and pro

like a basic/pro setting in the options menu

it's mostly just frame rate though, nothing to do with online performance

most lag issues come from your ISP/router

Has anyone had a problem with downloading this game? I bought to $100 dollar version with the early release but I am not able to get the game. The Playstation store confirms I purchased the game, but does not give me an option to download it.

I skipped 2k18 but just decided to get 2k19 tonight because of all-time teams. What do people think of this game?

I've grown pretty tired of 2k's shit. The release a game that's very close to being the same game and add a bunch of microtransaction garbage.

I wish they'd focus on gameplay and making the game more realistic. Capture the subtle differences between teams. Stuff that actually matters.

Instead they work on dumb shit like myPark or whatever.

I enjoy this years much more than last years. Everything feels a bit tighter.

I do appreciate how it seems like we are receiving more VC this year, but not sure how it calculates into upgrading our players. It's the same hard grind shit to level up. And I am capping myself at the $100 I spent buying the game. No more purchasing. If I want more, I got to grind.


On Keltic's question, I had no problem downloading the game. I purchased the game 3 days after it was released, though. Selected it from Playstation store, add to library, download. No problems.
