I just made an appointment for a physical, haven't had one since I was 18, ever since then have never gone to a doctor, just thought it was time for a check up even though I feel pretty healthy. What should I expect?

I'm 5'9" and 168 pounds, I have problems with smoking but I run 20-25 miles a week.

Lung cancer doesn't care how much you run.

They're going to listen to your heart, listen to your lungs, take your weight, blood pressure and he may or may not grab your balls and he may or may not check your ability to follow a finger with your eyes and he may or may not test your reflexes in your knees... also may have you touch your nose with your eyes closed and arms starting out to the side... and that'll be about it unless he sees something he doesn't like which is extremely improbable at 28.

Oh yeah, will probably have you open your mouth and say "AHH!", take a look around, and also have a look inside your ears.

If you're young and healthy, there's no point. Now the dentist, that's something you should get a check up for.

You've got it backwards.

Even being young and healthy, you can get struck by cancer, even if unlikely.

I hadn't been to a dentist in 15 years and only went to one because I needed to get a wisdom tooth pulled and the dentist couldn't believe how perfect my teeth were. It's a combination of genetics, diet and hygiene.

If your teeth die, you can get them replaced. If you die... you can't get anything replaced.

I'd rather lose all of my teeth due to neglect than lose my life because I didn't want to spend an 30 minutes to an hour a year checking up.

Same, **** that shit. It's all about healthy lifestyle and preventive medicine. Haven't been to the doctor in 5 years and dentist in 11 years and I'm in better health than 99% of the population.

Don't eat sugar, drink loads of water, eat something green and get all your vitamins (every single day) and exercise regularly.

Also, design your life to include no stress. That is the biggest killer.

As far as having cancer, I just hope I don't have it. Who cares if any of us die tomorrow? This life is just a ride, nothing dies, only changes.

Never had trouble with health in any way, never any injury worth going to the doctor for aswell... havent been for a checkup since i was like 17.... 20 years ago... my weakspots were/are tobacco (only swedish snus/snuff in small white portions, pure nicotine cant get you cancer or something, but still not awesome for the health) and ice cold coca cola, occasional beer.... hence i had only some small problem with minor tartar hitting some of part of my gum, easy removed with the dentist (which was my first time with the dentist in 10+ years)...

Generally feel/look better than ever... fitness, diet, genetics...

However, my right knee has just some day ago for some surprising reason started to crackle, like i can hear/feel it crackle when i jump/squat or something, doesnt hurt/swell up or anything.... its just... weird and worries me... wtf... might finally check the doctor... might just be an age/wear n tear thing where the doctor just goes: "Its normal, you are just ***ing 37 years old, stfu go home and deal with it bruh"

lol if your teeth 'die'(periodontitis) it can take you with it so it was important that you were taking care of yourself since you weren't seeing a dentist .. teeth healthy is very important .. the fact that your teeth and gums were fine after so long without seeing a dentist is a testament to your health and how you took care of yourself .. impressive

so they can put you on those cholesterol medications as a 'preventative' measure because your cholesterol was a 'little high' .. people take medicine like it's candy .. crazy .. I don't know how regular those tests should be .. it's good to know but that's what usually ends up happening .. if you take care of yourself your cholesterol and triglycerides will be fine usually .. the colon prostate thing are another story .. definitely get all that checked at least

Never thought of you as being in my age group, I thought you were 34+ :oldlol:

You can expect a scolding for not going for so long, and they will probably want to touch your balls. Maybe even stick a finger up your ass.

When my doc did I said to her as her finger was still in "oh, so this is what prison is like" She laughed for a solid 5 minutes :lol

I get 3 or 4 check ups per year. I have yet to be fingered. But way back when I was 14 and getting my hs sports physical the nurse who was pushing 60 did check my balls, an experience that none of my friends shared. And that was the first time I was touched by a woman. Completely unerotic, actually tickled a bit though I didn't think much of it at the time.

Get your bloodwork done with the works checked

Most guys over 35+yo can get a grocery list full of Pharm grade supplements and testosterone if your levels are even barely below normal

It's the easiest steroid haul to pull off doctors and they promote anti-aging medication

Insurance pays for it all and street value is ridic expensive for RX test/GH

No tapping. Could have been explained as a check for testicular cancer. That's got to be extremely rare amongst 14 year-olds but if a big stink had been made about it I think that would have to be her defense.

I also forgot to mention that I had a nasty an.al fissure for a few months, I seem to have it under control with stool softeners now, but if I stop taking them, Im scared that it may tear again. :(
