Nah the stepback moves he was doing last night is not a travel.

He pretends to take a step forward, goes back into his pivot/triple threat position and pulls up.

The new move Durant is doing is called "Out of bounds by a freaking mile with two refs looking right at him"

He's been doing travel level shuffle step backs for a long time now. Very few of his step backs are actually legit.

No...they really arent. Of course the funnier ones get more attention but hes as bad as any of these guys if not worse.

Pretty much none of them play what we were taught basketball is...but Harden seems to revel in it the most. Like....hes rubbing your face in his lack of abiding by the rules and the way normal people expect a game to be played. Though to be sure...that isnt just in how he travels.

That's just not true. Watch bballbreakdown's video on Harden's stepbacks. That's literally what he does every game. It's not a travel. He steps back WITH a dribble, and then steps back again. 2 steps

People saying he travels on every stepback is just not accurate at all. That's where the over exaggeration comes in. If you watch the step backs in slow motion, you can see he takes 2 steps without a dribble before shooting the ball, which is legal.

And that’s illegal. You get those 2 steps making a move TO the basket.

Not to mention the completion of a step back is really a hop are backward if you pick up your dribble which is your steps

You really think that at this point someone who is annoyed by James Harden cares about his regular season production?

I watched him have a 60 point triple double.

You think his current production matters to me?

There is nothing James Harden can do to quiet anyone but win in the playoffs. And even then hed still be a bitch.

What.....think hed be the first great douchebag?

Ive never said he cant play. I say he plays a bitchly brand of basketballl.

Like Karl Malone. Nobody think he was a bad power forward. He was just a scumbag.

You can be two things.

Harden is great....and an embarrassment. Hes been doing hall of fame numbers for years now. You think I just noticed?

I know he does numbers. I just dont think it prevents him from being a clown. Why would it?

Dwight Howard was productive...and a clown. Elvin Hayes was productive...and a dick. This isnt difficult. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Harden fans have been making a big deal of him then getting laughed at in the playoffs for 7 years running. Think im worried now? About anything that happens in January? He had back to back 50 point games last winter. Im sure you had a lot to say about that. Any Harden haters get their comeuppance or did you end up getting laughed at again in the playoffs?

None of this shit matters to people who dont like James Harden. None of it. Its just more fuel to the "What about the playoffs doe?" bonfire they plan to throw in May. If James Harden has 84 points all its gonna end up is a meme when he has 29 on 11-38 shooting with 9 turnovers getting knocked out of the playoffs.

This isnt a battle you can win in January.

So the one hand you claim all my posts are lengthy but on the other that I am mad because of it. I suppose I’m mad about everything that ever happened in the NBA then?

Not that I would expect much deductive reasoning from someone who still thinks people who don’t like James Harden are worried about his regular season production when the extreme majority of the heat he gets is centered on the fact that he does exactly this in games that don’t matter.

The biggest harden hater alive isn’t stressing big games in January.

The more of them there are....the easier it is to ask why they don’t continue when it counts.

The ideal season for a harden hater?

For him to put up 35-40 ppg the whole year then vanish before it counts. That would help not hurt his haters case.

He’s beyond proving anything in January.

Yeah these games definitely don't matter. I mean I guess when the Rockets were 11-14 and 14th in the West Harden should've packed it in and waited until May.

I wonder how the Rockets playoff prospects would've looked if 12 games ago Harden didn't decide to put a team of throwaways and former g-leaguers on his back and go out and knock off playoff team after playoff team? And yeah, it's not impressive at all that Harden took that same team and beat the defending champs consisting of 4 all-stars while putting up 44/15/10 with a game-tying and game-winning 3 in Oracle.

But yeah, these games don't matter. No reason to even watch. I'll let you get back to your regularly scheduled programming of grainy gifs and walls of irrelevant text.

Do you even know basketball? Jeez...

d. If a player, with the ball in his possession, raises his pivot foot off the floor, he must pass or shoot before his pivot foot returns to the floor. If he drops the ball while in the air, he may not be the first to touch the ball.

Id normally not expect to see the term "irrelevant text" from someone busy defending a player whos primary knock is a lack of playoff success...by using a regular season run. Seems you wouldnt want that poorly made argument and "irrelevant text" too close together. Kinda draws the eye.

I will be happy to give you some grainy gifs though. How are these?

When his offense is reliable enough to not blow leads that would have resulted in his team easily winning the finals....when his shot making can prevent a run of 27 missed threes in a row.....when his team matters in the end?

People will have less to say.

You really cant fail to see why the 6th straight year of great play from him and the 4th or so straight of roughly MVP level ball doesnt change many minds.

This happening...then them not mattering in the end...is exactly what people hate on him for. I mean...aside from playing basketball like a jackass.

1) Stiff arming is not > 50% of James' play, you mouthbreathing inbred.
2) James is one of those guys that's impossible to officiate. He takes such a beating almost every single game, that if you fairly called the times he's fouled and the times he fouls other people, the whistle would be blowing non stop. He's like Shaq. If every time Shaq was fouled, the whistles were actually called? Other teams would have to forfeit nearly every game due to a lack of bodies.

LeBron isn't the only player in history that's big and drives in the paint. This situation is not exclusive to LeBron, nowhere close. A lot of players are hard to officiate and Bran gets away with a lot of bullshit nonsense as well.

King James is just as difficult to officiate because he is also strong and unstoppable at getting into the paint as well as being incredibly shifty and being skilled enough to constantly have 3-4 different options to use when he is controlling the ball.

As a first option he sucks. Obviously as a 2nd option the impact of his skillset is shifted as his weaknesses of being passive as a first option won't be there. I ignore you because you're a bumbling moron :lol

Either way, AD is not going to the Lakers. The Pels won't let him go for nothing and there's no way in hell they're trading him to the Lakers unless Bran's got a secret agent in the front office to give him players for free like he does in Phx with James Jones.

If you think that determining factor in whether or not James Harden gets the respect you think he deserves from the people who don’t like him is making the playoffs or not you aren’t paying attention.

They just won 65 games and he got laughed at end of the season more than he ever had before.

James Harden is a first ballot Hall of Famer who has people opening the discussion about him being the greatest offensive player ever.

He is no longer judged by the low standards you try to use. Jalen Rose helping his team come from an early deficit to middle of the pack in the playoff race would be enough to quiet detractors. James Harden is the NBA MVP.

You really have to come to grips with the fact that the people who don’t respect him are never going to because of anything that happens in the regular season. Absolutely nothing.

That’s how it works when you hit a certain level. And like his game or enjoy watching him or not you’ve never seen me deny he is on the level in question. He is an elite player. He’s not gonna get that much in love anymore for doing things the entire basketball world would come together and love a less established player for.

He’s where Lebron was when there weren’t 3 rings to justify his hype.

He’s having multiple 08-10 Cavs seasons which are no doubt great basketball....but never gonna get him as respected as you clearly wish he were.

TBH I don't clearly wish he was respected. Seeing someone succeed after being doubted and disrespected is far more enjoyable for me as watcher, then for someone who was handedly praised and expected to do so.

That extra shuffle wouldn't be an issue if it was to plant and set up for the shot. But he's still 'moving' back as he does it which IS a travel no matter how you look at it.

And the thing is, he doesn't need to take that extra step after the initial step. He gets enough separation most of the time that he doesn't need to travel.

On a related note, the defender falling down looks almost as bad as:

Similar to the Curry jab step that broke defender's ankle when he was trying to mimic Harden's travel.
